About two years ago, I let a domain name on a blog I had going expire. By the time I got around to renewing , someone else had bought the domain. Currently, it's owned by this speculator outfit called "nameking.com". They want like $2500+ or something ridiculous for it. It's not a very big domain name, just something in the fashion and shoe niche. Basically, I do own a name that's nearly identical to it but my old name is finally showing up in Google with the cached copy of my old blog. The speculators just have some scammy redirect fake blog thing that you can see all over the internet. So, my question is if I can't easily or cheaply get the name back from NameKing, could I somehow use SEO to get some of that "aged" google results back? I find it confusing that google still shows the very old cached results from my old blog even though it's been gone for two years? Thanks for any ideas!
You're screwed, basically. SEO your new site. If you try to hijack the old traffic, you run the risk of boosting them even further, which will mean they can up the price to $100,000 Why anyone ever pays more than $8 for a domain name is beyond me...
lol you madea purchase query and now they will renew for some more years. best is to go with new site
