For those suggesting the iwebtools PR predictor, I would just add that it is not all that accurate. It seems to simply base its prediction of of your current number of backlinks, rather than on their quality. Do a search on the tool for sites you know currently have PR7 or 8 or you expect to have PR7 or 8 and often times you see predictions of 4 or 5. It currently predicts www.avivadirectory.com to drop to PR6 (seems absurd since Jeff is constantly promoting) and that www.alivedirectory.com will drop to PR4 (INSANE!). It also seems to think Best of the Web will drop to 6 next update. So be careful with taking this tool too seriously. It definitely has some flaws.
ya really once in this tools they showed pr 5 and i buyed link for huge but google gave only pr 2.Actually no one correctly know how google will give pageranks.
A few days ago my pr dipped to the old level on some datacenters then returned to the new level. My search standings also seemed to have been effected. Anyway, I find the iwebtool pagerank prediction a better indication of a sites ability to pass rank than the google that shows in the toolbar. Just my experience
i don't even care when the pr is or the bl update is. yeah, it looks like from the seocompany.ca website, it could be around end of dec/jan 07 like most of you are saying. most likely will start showing up then. besides, googles webmaster tools says of right now i have low pr (1,2,or3?) if it really matters, i will predict both my sites and all it's internal pages will be pr3/4.....
Prediction from http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/page-rank-update-list.html is : Jan 28 I hope to receive from Google a gift like last year (a box with USB gadgets)
im feeling your pain, i didnt get a PR update eather. the next update will not be for a couple months, but only google knows for sure.
I think it will be around January if they stick to their time table. The last update was last month so we will have to wait.
This time last year I got caught up in the PR update waiting game. I quickly realized that it's not worth paying attention to. Concentrate on getting traffic to your site or converting clicks into sales. Unless you want to make an extra $5 a month with a link sale (whoppie) PR means nothing.
Some might have new sites and need PR (even PR 1) to initiate trades and get the ball rolling. While I'll agree that many webmasters are waiting on PR for the wrong reasons, PR updates do matter when you have a newer site that's "off the charts."
Correct me if I am wrong: The PR you see from the toolbar is not always the PR Google internally uses to rank sites. The Toolbar PR always lags the Live PR. So your PR may have already increased - you just don't see it.
Next full IBL & PR update should be in January 2007 However one of your problems may be this... "gained one hell of alot of quality backlinks". Completely artifical link building is not the best thing you can do.... algorithims are used not just for determining rankings... but also to determine averages... and who trips those filters .....
One thing that you must keep in mind is that your PR does not necessarily reflect how well marked your site is. In fact, I am ranking #1 with top level keywords on a website that has 0PR.
Doesn't anyone read matt cutt's blog? He mentioned a few things about the last PR update, and said another one shouldn't be expected until around January - which is inline with the usual 3 month schedule. You should be ranking well anyway if your site is aged, since the internal PR still updates - it's just a case of the satisfaction of seeing all that green in the PR bar
