When I look at this page I get ads for spyware software. I get the odd one about sympathy gifts and wills, which I can understand, but oddly none about Elvis. This is despite the fact that I often see ads for Elvis related products on the main page where the words "Elvis Presley" appear once way down the bottom. Any ideas? http://www.theobservant.co.uk/content/view/23/29/
Probably because the ads for wills etc are paying more than Elvis related ads, and since that page is primarily about his death etc, the ads are triggered by those keywords. You probably see Elvis ads on the main page because those ads are the best targeted.
Jen, isn't there a way to write code into the pages so that the stuff you want ads to display for shows up instead of irrelevant ads? Along the lines of ... <!-- google mediabot use this bit --> kind of thing ...?
So I went thru your article and picked out all the words that may influence the "will" ads. Will Ads ------------------- Grief Passed Away Dead - 6 Autopsy - 2 Retired (could be translated as dead?) Buried Alive Passing - 2 Deceased Death - 2 Ad keywords you are wanting to show ------------------------------------- Elvis Presley - 3 Elvis - 8 As you can see Adsense is smart but it goes with what it see's Hope this helps.
That's what I meant! Good find. I couldn't remember what it was called and was too lazy to look it up. Heh.
The section targeting seem to work quite well, but I couldn't get ignore to work for me. You might want to try it on words such as dead and death, though. Perhaps it works better for you. Good luck.
