any idea of upcoming SEO contests for 2008 seoworldchampionship was a pretty much famous in 2007 i guess, with loads trying to be first on search engines for "globalwarming awareness2007"

as far as I know the upcoming SEO Contest will be held on February 1, 2008 and the winner will receive $1,000.00
You know how much the competition is tough and rules are strict, I won't recommended it to any one for just $1k.
thanks for the information had a look at UKWW contest....but im not that happy with the prize as well but anyway i will look into the topic on Feb1, if i can get a grab a good domain name which exactly matches the topic...then i might compete looking forward for more info on upcoming contests

ik is just the prize money. imagine the exposure you will get once you win. you will be considered an expert in this field and charge your clients a lot for your service. this is a good opportunity for people who provide SEO services to prove their skills
I understand that $1K may seem not such a good prize for some participants but like sultanofseo mentioned there is a lot of positive exposure and potential business you can gain by winning such contest. I've just entered the UK Webmaster World SEO contest. My site is seocontest2008 I agree with wmghori $1000 isn't a lot. This is my first attempt at an SEO contest. I would prefer if the duration of the contest was longer and the prizes were bigger!
failed to get a KEYWORD.com/net/info/org...all gone when i got up in the morning anyway created a free blogger.com, but not having much hopes of wining with the free blogspot (and im not trying that hard as well) anyway if anybody wanna have a look below is my site, coming as 10th result in google at the moment http://seocontest2008tips.blogspot.com
The price might not sound exciting (maybe you wanted a free living house?), but in either case the contest is going to be competitive for real since they do allow running the contest from a page within a already established site. But again, the timeframe to keep the contest live will give enough time for the "main domain" hunters to get their sites old enough to be able to rank for the term. In either case, the $1k is not the game for many (and for many is), but the exposure you will get "during" and "after" the contest will be most likely well worth more then $1k and after all...it is fun to participate a contest where you do actually have to work and achieve your winning price rather then playing on luck.
