    Other than

    1. making sure you submit to an appropriate DMOZ category; and
    2. making sure your sites meet the "stated" criteria for DMOZ inclusion,

no, there is no way to speed it up. You are now, like the rest of the world, at the mercy of the whims of the editor(s) for that category.

Now would be a good time to do a complete system virus scan and clean out the refrigerator. You probably have plenty of time while you're waiting.

Just submit and forget it.. there is no other way around it.

Having said that, I can tell you that it is worth it and that is from my own experience, we were lucky to get accepted only after 4 weeks of submission, and 2 weeks right after, our site jumped from page 180 to the 2 page, and we have not done anything special really in between that period to cause that jump.

    my 2 cents

As ~50% of new sites added to DMOZ were never submitted, the fastest would have to be a negative number.

Whilst reviews can take from 24 hours to several years with no guarantees, some categories take much longer than others. The more commercial competition there is in the sector the longer it will take, and it isn't proportionate - jammed up commercial categories with sufficient listings to cover most information on a subject and hundreds of wannabees lined up for review will wait forever. On the other hand a niche non-commercial site on a niche non-commercial subject with little competition will usually get attention faster. That is a general rule but there is still a random element where that could easily be reversed. Focus on other methods of marketing and if the site gets enough attention an editor may stumble across it elsewhere and add it - it is often the quickest route.

First, you need a paypal account. Second, you need to find an editor with a paypal account. Rumor is, they all have one....

If you want the fastest way to get you and all your sites banned from DMOZ follow this stupid advice. In all other cases suggest your site once to the best category.

LOL. Thanks for taking my sarcastic comment personally. Just trying to liven things up with some humor. No need to get your panties in a wad. But don't worry. I'm a big boy and can handle your attacks, and the negative rep you gave me.

Bribing or even the slightest hint of it are never seen as humor by DMOZ editors.

BTW I did not give you a rep (neither negative nor positive). After some persons here at DP got my rating below 0 it is not usefull for me to give any person a rep as it won't count. And from the continous red reps I get and the comments in them I'm sure these same people want to make sure my rating will never get above 0. I don't care. Seems some people only like it if you only say what they want. Other people care about the truth. :D

Suggesting that someone bribes a Dmoz editor is staggeringly bad advice. Even if intended in jest, innocent new webmasters might take it seriously and find themselves permanently banned from the Open Directory.

Certain editors can't tell the difference between The Resourceless Zone and the rest of the known universe - which isn't surprising when you think of it, since typically their only fixed address is Mom's Basement.

What's funny is four of these goobers neg rep me and NONE even bother to leave their name. All I get is "lies!!" or "stop being funny."

P.S. Dear DMOZ nazis. Could you please leave your name when giving me bad rep. Thanks in advance. :D

Too bad the rep button doesn't automatically add the poster's name to the comments. I wonder if the same individuals that are red repping you are the ones that are red repping everyone else just to feed the apparant "us against them" situation?

Uh, yeah... that must be it, lmocr.. I mean, DMOZ editors wouldn't red rep anyone, would they? It must be another one of those anti-DMOZ conspiracies we keep hearing so much about...

If that is all you are getting. Standard reps for me are like "DMOZ editors are idiots". Also ofcourse without a name. :(

this forum is a good source of info and you can ask directly about your site.
you might not like what they tell you, but its still can be helpfull

I found out when my site should/could be added
and then i found out why my site got booted out...

    such a joy..
