Any Hotel Affiliates around PLEASE read :)

I am thinking of setting up a hotel booking site but not sure about potential, i know the competion is strong just like hosting and gambling and such

The question im concerned is ... DO YOU MAKE GOOD MONEY?

Please share figures and if you focus on a region or global scale
How long did it take you to see results?

I would really like to hear from hotel affiliates, so please share your story even if very brief

I tried few years back to establish my own travel and hotel booking site with ian.com but did not make any money...

Depends on what you are going for, if you create many local websites you can probably do all right but global/national sites are pretty much filled up by competition

 

You can success, but you need spend lot money to advertise

for those success, they are selling $10k +

so imaging, before you asking the question, is that earning, ask your self, how much capital you can spend to advertise.

 

i can manage with minimal advertising using the basics... content is king

 

You need to set up a local portal. Here's a great example of someone I know who is making a living out of it: http://www.channels.nl

Of course, he has built the site up over several years.

 

now the question is... is it from SEO or word of mouth / branding at this point
