Hello I'm new to wordpress, spending the last few weeks tweeking things and moving frames around, i've finally got the design and layout for the website. My next gripe is with the page/post structure, i'm so unsure what to do here. I'm told you can't have too many pages as this damages download time and hammers the memory in the ftp. So if i am to have say only 10 static pages. How else can i begin placing in all the content that will build the site. I'm messing with posts, but they all on same page, even categories are on that same page, i need some help with order, so i can have say one post as a review and then have lots of different reviews in different areas. How can this be done without pages though. Thanks for any information JAMES
In wordpress pages are second to posts. Just start posting everything. ( for the most part, i mean pages do have their place) but still. posts are what you want to be using. | I'm told you can't have too many pages as this damages download time and hammers the memory in the ftp. this is not true on a few levels. If your worried about performance just make sure you have only plugins you need ( and a cache'ing plugin)
Thanks for response, however it's posting i'm unsure of. How do i assign posts to places and things like that, how do i put things into topics and sub categories, do i need pages to assign posts to or are posts just themselves part of the structure instead of a page.
