i tried esyndicat for 6 months. they have great support team but script is abit heavy for me , And phpld is faster but support team abit weak... in my opinion ,correct question must be what will i use script for ? for business dir , for web links or real estate...?
My answer to your dilemma will be qlwebDS. It is a very easy script to operate with a minimum daily maintenance. The features you have mentioned in your post are included in every version and you do not have to worry about following new trends to update your directory with mods that are not a part of standard package. I found this out the hard way when using phpld. After trying qlwebDS, I became self-sufficient in every aspect of running my directory and implementing the necessary changes. The simple to operate admin and great auto approval option allowed me to dedicate my time to build quality content or review submitted links for unique descriptions. In my opinion each script and directory is a matter of personal choice, but if you are looking for something headache free and less time consuming the qlWebDS will be my solution.
Nice story and great to see you found something that did what you wanted to. Only advice I can offer though, when doing long testimonials like this perhaps try and break it up into paragraphs to make it easier to read.

Hmm, phpLD free version has all of these options i think, especially the new free directory script version that is launched this month , check it here.
Thanks for pointing out that although in truth it can't really be called a new version its the same one with a few bugs ironed out. It still falls way short of the majority of free scripts out there.
I am very happy using qlweb directory script. It has been bug free and extremely easy to use. The service I have received has been very professional. I can't wait for the new version to come out.
