    Hmm,
Depending on what type of submission you are looking for. If you are talking about those services that are a dime a dozen that say "Submit to 10,000 Search Engines", you can forget about it.

They are old school 1990's type stuff.

If you are looking to get listed in the top engines such as Yahoo, Google, MSN, etc, I would say that your best bet is to get a few backlinks from a popular site. From there you can use a simple bot tracker and see when the bots first visit. You can then use some free alert services to get an email once you show up.

If you are talking about something else, forget I even posted:)

Forget submitting to search engines and start submitting to directories. Get a few inbound links and the search engines will find you.

The spiders will find your site though inbound links from other sites that are actively crawled.

I like to use addme.com. They have a FREE submission (semi-automated) to 14 SE's. They do have a pay platform which I use for 4 different sites which has been pretty sucessful. It offers a cp that allows you to see the progress of submissions.

Anyway, with any of these types of submission services your mileage will vary.

I dont normally download much from the net, however this looks like it might be a pretty good all around tool. I will give it a try.
