I'm not sure I'd want to use CPALead. The widgets are very "spam" like, and I personally think they would annoy a lot of users.

A flash generator signature is a good idea. Also good to create mini flash games, you can create a new character and make it popular as the character Stick.
Hey man i to suggest to try out adscend media as well.They have some good widgets and you can lock your content with that too.Just take a look at what they have o offer.And about a niche for you website well i´ve seen lots of peoples making movie sites ( you can try it too ) or tv shows sites.Or you can go with it in the games niche.There are lots of things to do with that.Just that you´ll have to offer something that peeps are after and are looking for.
Just based on what you said, you said you were really bad at generating traffic to your website. My guess is that you have been trying to do things you aren't passionate about. My suggestion is that if you want to sell a product, find a product you are actually interested in to sell. If you are going to do a blog, do a blog on something you find yourself enjoying. If you are going into affiliate marketing, find a product to sell that you yourself would actually think about purchasing (not just some stupid ebook or something). I have found that when you take these initiatives you will be more inclined to stick with the project, market it better, and have a website that will last long term.

I once made a webpage that had a flash background that was constantly in motion. The content was over it in separate layer. Maybe you could custom design flash backgrounds on demand. There aren't many who do this when I last searched because most flash files are just a small part of a page such as a banner, but if it catches on you could see many more dynamic-looking web pages. I really like them. They look much more alive. I may make a website that offers the html code for free. All you would have to do is upload the custom flash background file to your folder and add the html code for you top layer and BAM, a flashy dynamic landing page. Now there is a cool idea...
