Hey guys, i really want to learn more about google, and how it works etc.

I have a search engine optimization book, but it is all stuf i pretty much already knew.

I can see you guys on here talking about google updates and pageranks, backlinks etc, and im not completely confident that i know what your talking about lol.

Anyways, just wanted to know if there are any good books or websites on how to 'master google' (for beginners obviously :))

Hope you guys can help me out, thanks!

Books on these subjects suck. You can learn all about the subjects you mentioned right here at DP. :D

Seo expert Michael Wong has pretty good stuff. However, DP is an interactive book which keeps updating itself. To check out Wong's stuff, go to www.mikes-marketing-tools.com

    Agreed with all above.

However if you want an interesting read then "The Google Story" is a good read on the history of how google started and its journey to where it is today.

Reccomend it for thost that like to read.

Another good one is Richard Branson's "How I lost My Virginity" lol dont worry the name is to do with his virgin empire.

Page rank was introduced as a trademark by google to sort their search results .I don't know if it's still as widely used by them or not ...

Page rank is the weight of your website's page in google's view ,

Page rank is updated every three months or so ,You may get more weight or loose some .I won't like to loose this weight ...

Back links are the links which pass page rank ,They are other webmasters linking to your site from their's...

Good links from related sites on quality pages are counted as back links,
Good content or services attract back links .

Why do you need a book for that ?

"Think of your visitor and everything will follow ."

    Regards

Its better to ask here in DP, becuase simply there are more than 18000 brains here than an E-book that updates every ?years ?

I don't know who posted this before, but Google's patent application is something that I glance at from time to time just to keep me organized on priority. If you're really looking for something valuable to read, that's going to fill that need. Otherwise, I agree with just browsing and readign about what's going on here.

So you're saying you read it? :D:D:D

Sorry man... Is it as cold where you are as it is up here? I was gonna go to the S & I tomorrow, but it is too damn cold.

Back on topic, you will find an equal amount of good and bad info here. More good than bad. Just keep your chin up, sit back, listen a lot, and suck it all in. It's the place to be!

SEOBook is very long! It doesn't reveal any master formulas but it has a good amount of information.
