Which free webdesigning software will you guys recommend for a starter? I don't want to spend money now or may be g for very cheap software but really a verstile one which can allow me to design website like a pro.
If you had the cash I'd wholeheartedly recommend Dreamweaver, weapon of choice for many for a long time now... But seeing as that's not what you asked I'd say NVU - I use it ocassionally when I'm working on 3rd party machines (where I can't install unlicensed software) and it's OK. Ultimately any web design software is just a tool and it's up to you and your knowledge of design & coding that will allow you to design like a pro... with the right tools of course
What is this buzz: http://www.computerworld.com/action...axonomyId=9&articleId=9063382&intsrc=hm_topic and http://www.jgrasp.org/
NVU is the WYSIWYG editor of choice for many people that don't wish to pay. I personally use Notepad++ but i guess you haven't learnt HTML + CSS. As for the graphics, I would recommend the gimp, or possibly Paint.Net
btw, you can just download the trial version of dreamweaver and use it? the latest which i think is CS3 is astonishing, superb and i can't describe the words but it will surely help you improve or build your websites better then ever i personally don't use these softwares like dreamweaver, frontpage, coffeecup, etc, etc. i prefer using the Legendary Notepad but i did try using Dreamweaver CS3 and it surely is great for both beginners and experts (specially if you use the extensions).
I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended for normal templates. As for flash templates i use Adobe Flash CS3. Before i ever used Adobe i used Web Page Maker V2. If you need any of the software let me know, also if any of you need a key for Any Adobe products let me know (£$£$).
NVU is a good one you may actually want to search the forums, there are tons of threads just like this one
I have not used First Page 2001 or 2006 , but just like the other would recommend NVU for WYSIWYG editing. On the long run you will need to learn HTML and CSS and if you do that you might end up using nothing more than a text editor (such as Notepad++).
