hello i need your help guys is there any completely free web page maker that makes no ads or referral banners as a result of being free .. am new in web design ....i started with a blog but i want to develop the stuff and publish a web site ....
tbh, i would reccomend spending a lil bit of money and getting proper hosting. dreamhost.com allows you to use a free sub domain of theirs, or u can get a free .com domain, and if u use a promo code (i cn pm u one, jus pm me ) u can get the first year for something ridiculously small (around $20.00) and the uptime and speed is well worth it.
am not talking at hosting at all i need HTML editor (web designing program) that dont put ads or refferal banners on my web page as a result of being free ... looking for advice from experienced guys
Unfortunately the type of program you're looking to use is often bundled into hosting providers that offer a "one stop shop 'solution' (yeah, right)" that often ends up putting those ads onto your site as a condition to using their "helpful software" to make your site in the first place. And more often than not, your site will be hosted on their domain - which will just get THEM more traffic (and combined with the ads, more money), not you. The first thing I'd do (I know, you probably don't want to hear this, but it will come in handy if you decide to develop more sites later on down the road, like you said you might), is register a domain name. Before doing that though, (and yes, this will be required reading if you do register a domain name) read 10 things you MUST know before you register a domain name with anyone. The next thing I'd do is go to Instant Domain Search and play around with it. It's not a domain name registrar, but instead a search engine of sorts - it'll tell you if a particular name you type into the search field is registered or available. (If a domain is available, it'll offer a few "helpful" links to registrars that you can use - avoid them like the plague). If you find a domain name you like that's available, DO NOT REGISTER IT AT NETWORK SOLUTIONS, REGISTERFLY/ENOM (or one of their resellers) OR GODADDY. Network Solutions (or NetSol for short) has a VERY bad reputation with transferring domains and domain name dispute resolution. Registerfly/ENOM have been named as defendants in a class action lawsuit for domain fraud (among other things), and GoDaddy's known for "ransoming" domain names if people send even ONE "spam report" to the registrar - basically someone sends GoDaddy an email saying they received a spam mail from you (even if you never sent one) and they lock out your domain name, making your Web site unavailable, and then offer to "ransom" it back to you in exchange for a LOT of money. See www.nodaddy.com for details (and follow the links to Wired Magazine for additional evidence). A lot of people recommend www.namecheap.com for their domain names, though I use www.misk.com instead (it's a personal preference). Whatever you do though, make sure that the domain name registrar you choose is ICANN accredited. One last thing. Never register a domain name for more than one or two years at a time, and make sure that the registrar sends you notices 90 days, 60 days and 30 days before your domain is set to expire so you can renew it (Misk even sends notices AFTER the domain expires but before it's released - I had a domain name I didn't want anymore so I let it lapse just to see what the registrar would do - they kept reminding me that it had expired, then released it after 60 days; this is something you WANT from a reputable domain name registrar). Now with that out of the way, you're going to need hosting. Never get a hosting package from the company you registered your domain name with. If you feel like you need to change your hosting provider, you may not be able to if the hosting was offered as part of a domain name registration/transfer package (the same principle applies to transferring domain names). As the old saying goes, never keep all your eggs in one basket. For most sites, I suggest www.hostgator.com for single site hosting (go with the $10/month plan so you don't have to pre-pay an entire year in advance - always pay monthly). If you don't want to pay for hosting, yet still want to use your own domain name, then nothing beats www.awardspace.com - NOTHING. Ad free, garbage free, and FREE Web hosting, with PHP and MySQL support. What more could a person ask for? (Aside from more space and features that comes with the territory of a growing Web site's needs.) Now, as for building a site, I suggest using a graphic design program like Adobe Photoshop, Corel (formerly Jasc) Paint Shop Pro, or even Paint.NET (FREEBIE!!!) to design your Web site's graphic elements (logo, animations, and backgrounds for example), then either learn HTML and CSS (I recommend Build Your Own Web Site the Right Way Using HTML & CSS by Ian Lloyd) or use a free WISIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor like NVU (another FREEBIE!!!). However, if you do choose to use an editor, use it only to get started, otherwise it may prove to be a crutch as time goes on.
Dan Schulz thank you very much for this valuable and great information really that helped me a lot that information i was exactly seeking thank you very much
No problem. I've been writing about that a LOT lately (in various threads on both Web design forums and gaming forums). I should compile everything and write a formal article about it.
Thanks for your infos Dan. I was just checking around this thread to see what i could do to help, but you deeply went clear on the answer and even made me learned things that i did not aware of. Thanks again!
