Any Free Tools To Generate PDF Files

    Which is the best free tool to generate PDF files on the fly ?

    I know of the "print drivers" but are there other tools for this ?

    type in PDF writer.

    You will see a bunch of them. some free and some are not. :)

    Adobe has an online service https://createpdf.adobe.com that is a subscription, it has a free trial.

    If you want a desktop solution http://www.openoffice.org, it's free. Basically when I found open office I stopped looking because it does everything I need. It's a full suite of tools, but you want "Writer", you have to download the full suite. I know there are many others as well, but openoffice is the most often recommended, out of the free ones anyway.

    If you can use PERL or PHP there are lots of scripts for this. Just search CPAN for PERL and various PHP archives for PHP.

    Cute PDF does the job for basic PDF creations.

    You can upgrade to paid if you want fancy tools.
