    every antivirus come with a free portable version, without advanced features. You can choose: Symantec, KAV, Panda, McAfee ....

    But it uploads the files during each scan!
    Basically it based on Cloud Computing Technology! :)

    there are software programs that can scan your PC without the need to install them. But you'll need to buy and install one of them if you want to remove any threat. I'm not aware of any antiviruis product that can do thatt though

    Most antivirus companies have their own online scan system, its just that most of them don't delete the virus if detected, you'll need a pro version, just search of any software site you always know, like kaspersky, NOD32, avg...they all have a web tool for that.

    I use avira, it's free and not heavy for my pc.

    I used to use kaspersky. And it's rated as one of the best. And is very light as well.

    But whatever you do, don't use Norton. That stuff slows the computer down a lot. And it's not that great... but it looks nice though :)
