    Hi guys

Do you know any online free online antivirus that can check my PC without installation? I have some viruses but don't want to slow down my PC by installing heavy antivirus programs.

But if any such facility is not available then which is top choice with minimum memory load and free?

I still recommend it only because it was the only virus scanner that caught a virus that the others over-looked. It almost caused me to lose my hosting =/

    Trend Micro Housecall online scanner:
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

If you don't want to install a resident anti virus, have a look at ClamWin.
It only scans what you want, when you want - so it doesn't use any system resources when you're not running it... But obviously doesn't protect you as much as AVG or other resident applications.
    It's free: http://www.clamwin.com/

    Hi There

F Secure Online Scanner is one of the best tools we use.

However it is NOT a substitute for a real-time anti-virus which MUST be installed on any system otherwise you are just playing with fire.

Have a look at Microsoft Security Essentials - FREE Lightweight virus / malware scanner that alerts you when your NOT protected.

    Regards

I don't know any good online antivirus but You can use the below site to send some files(upload) which you feel might be infected or reason for infection and the site will test the file with more than 10 or 20 best antivirus and provide you complete result, you can get the report in your desired format and download it too.

I am also using AVG free edition and it is very good in protecting my PC. IT is better to use AVG free other than using other Pirated Premium editions.

I use Avast for my desktop.

And for an outside, free scan, just Google … housecall … and go to the trend micro website, use only the free service it will scan your computer and remove all of the spyware ad ware or viruses it's really a complete service at one time.

    All the best … Ron

I suggest you to install Avast version 5.0.507 (Free home edition). Its really easy to use and keeps your pc virus free.

You can opt for Avira, its free and doesn't consume much of memory. Of course, it catches virus too.

Avast is pretty big in terms of resource usage, both it and AVG toss a lot of false positives, and AVG causes a lot of compatibility issues with games. However, if that isn't really a concern for you then I'd probably opt for AVG. As already mentioned, Panda's online scanner isn't terrible, and you can couple Malwarebytes with Spybot S&D to get rid of most small malware.

Hi, it is a free program. When you download it from some sites though, there are usually different buttons to click for different versions, maybe you clicked the wrong one. Uninstall it and Google Avast, look for the one from Filehippo.com, their site is easy to use. Not sure why the other user recommended that particular version but if theres a good reason, just look under where it says download latest version and you will see older versions, click on the one you want, then the "Download this version" button.

Just researching for the best AV software that consumes less PC resources. Didn't finalize yet.
