I am looking to see if there are any websites that offer free logo creations. I googled it and the ones that say free have you make it for free then want to charge you 49 bucks at the end very deceptive advertising anyway, any real free logo makers out there,, ty
Well, you could also just download a pack with logos and edit them yourself? they won't be unique but you can find some very good looking logos on the internet for free! Regards.
Sort of. Almost. Barely. I'd highly recommend against either cheap logos or using pre-made ones, but I will offer you some tools, some advice, and a warning. First I am a trained graphic designer. I believe it is a skilled trade, and looking at how my sensitiviy to colour, line, type and layout has increased since the beginning of my studies I can't imagine/trust a designer who didn't have at the very LEAST 6 years of experience (and I'm still at the beginning of my career. A designer who is 35, 45 or older can likely spot things a mile away that I need minutes of close inspection to find). I tell you this because here on this forum you'll run into a lot of folks pretending to be designers because they have this tool or that tool. We all know that just because you can go into a store and buy a guitar doesn't make you Jimi Hendrix, design is like that. Tools Now, I'll explain - there are many different tools available, and I can name you the top 3, but I'll explain the sort of tools we're using first. Logos have to be created in a vector illustration program, not a bitmap editor. What's the difference? Think of a vector program as being a 2D version of a CAD program where they make cars, or a 3D modelling program. All the model is is a wireframe and the lines that connect it, and it can be scaled in size up or down. If you use a bitmap editor it's like building an image out of lego, where if you make it bigger you just start to see the building blocks (the pixels) of the image. The most commonly used vector illustration program for logos is Adobe Illustrator, which can be expensive for somebody who only needs it once, but is worth every penny you pay for it. Second to Adobe Illustrator in the industry is Corel Draw. It's a canadian-made windows-only program that has a long rich history and is a great, great tool. The reason it isn't as popular is because Microsoft messed with Corel (who at the time was distributing their own version of Linux called Corel Linux and competing with Microsoft in the operating system market. They almost went bankrupt tanks to Microsoft and it was during that time that Adobe filled in the hole in the market) The software I use in addition to Adobe Illustrator is a free and open-source (like firefox) program called Inkscape. It's available for Windows, Mac, Linux and more over at inkscape.org, and for everything you need to to, it's just as good as Adobe Illustrator. Clipart This is the part I hate to tell you. I believe a logo is worth the money, and a good logo (which is a problem) requires a creative solution. I love the challenge of a logo, and they way I see it, there are infinite bad solutions to the problem, a handful of okay solutions, but only a couple of REALLY GOOD solutions. I've devoted my life to being that lateral thinking problem solver that equips himself with the tools to conceptualize and systematically design the solutions. I honestly believe that the chances of an untrained person hitting a good solution are slim, and the odds of hitting one of those REALLY GOOD solutions is almost non-existent. But, I will help you out here and I just hope that if you take this sing seriously that you will hire a designer and get a really good solution working for you. I'd recommend looking for somebody who's trained as well, so you may have to look around in your community. Check out a web-design place and see if the designer can design you a logo. They're cheaper than an actual design studio, and they are usually always looking for ways and little jobs like this to supplement their web design income. One place you can get vector artwork that you are free to use in logos and designs is http://openclipart.org/ I recommend that you go to openclipart, and download a few images, follow a few tutorials at vectortuts.com and then sit down and sketch out some logo ideas or go to a designer. Your logo will be a million times better than simply using an off-the-rack image.
