Any free .com domains or really cheap ones?

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know whether you can get any free .COM domains (without being scammed or cornered to buy something else)? If not, any cheap domains under $7.00 AUD or USD.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Why would any company give you a free .com with no strings attached? If you are serious about your site, don't worry about $7 to $8. Some of the lower priced domain sellers will cause you more problems than it is worth - unless you value your time at zero.

The problem is that cheapest isn't always the best.

In addition you can buy hosting with free domain included as cheap as $11.40 per year at www.atomic-hosting.net

Not sure if the promotion remains, though

Yeah 7-8 bux a year isnt something big, but when you expand into 5-6 sites that 7-8 doubles.... triples.... so it does become an expensive expansion.

The cost of the domain is easily recovered through ads on the sites

I use RegisterFly.com to bulk register .info domains to test a site for less than $3 per domain. If the site works, then I upgrade to a .com.

    My two cents.

What about the $2.99 domains by Yahoo? Is that the right price or do they have strings attached so it all ads up to 7+ ?

    Just avoid RegisterFly.
Check www.registerflies.com (this is not my website) for horror stories.

    My two cents.
