any forseeable problems with smf?

Hey guys I set up this forum that I am going to release with several other of my sites in a few days. It is SMF and I was wondering before I did public release if there are any problems anyone has faced with smf before?

Forum thread is www.afternoonalarm.com/smf ... I think I may change the name in order to have a more centralized forum for all of my sites but thats not really important right now.

I guess I'm just looking for any problems with smf as a whole

Not sure if there's meant to be a black space where the 'new post' icon is meant to be on the main page. Also, those colours don't seem to mix too well for IMO. Maybe you could change them around?

Yeah that theme is not very nice. Well there aren't any big problems I have faced with SMF, but every forum software has their own problems here and there :)

thanks for the replies guys... yea it is supposed to be a black space I may need to put something there to avoid confusion... when a new post is up there will be a green "new post" in the box... Any sugggestions on colors> I myself kinda liked the color scheme but with two people agreeing the color is off it looks like I need to rethink it. Thanks again

Just change the black to a different colour. Maybe try out a bunch of different colours similar to the oens you gave the forum, see which one looks best then post back here.

SMF is fine, but the modding and skin communities could be a bit more active and in greater numbers.

The moderator controls aren't very advanced or fast, which is important to me.

At the moment, I've found about 15 or so mods which I intend on using. The skins however, are harder to come by especially if you just want a general, light-coloured theme.
