Hey Everyone! So I just launched this site, and I am making minor adjustments to it this week to try and fine tune it. I was wondering if anyone had any input to make it better? www.plixls.com Does it look good? Clean? Easy to Navigate and understand? Should anything be added or changed? It is a photoshop search engine (the search right now is not working great - I still have to change the database structure now that there are links in it). You can use it to search hundreds of sites for thing like PSD files, brushes, tutorials and more. Users can easily (and for free) add their own. Please let me know what you think, even the bad stuff! Thanks!!
Looks good. The only thing I would change is making the links below the search bar (New Items, etc) a bit darker because they hurt my eyes .
I'm interested to see how you handle pagination. is each tab going to be a huge list or broken into pages?
As other people said, you really need to increase contrast of the colors there, but the idea looks good and design is nice and clean. I'd use the heart to denote favorites, not as the primary search icon
Looks good, nice and fast but I'd put the "what is plixels?" on the home page somewhere - just until you get well known.
We do have pagination, a very simple version that displays 40 items per page (we are still adding some cool features as we go!
The heart is not the main search item! =) It is for upcoming holidays, right now it is used for valentine's day! Each holiday we are going to put an image there - as most designers need files for something (like a holiday) upcoming. Christmas will be a tree, halloween a pumpkin, like that, and and if you click the heart it brings up all the valentines day resources currently. I just thought it would help people out a bit! Maybe I should make it more clearer =)
