Well... This show is also my favorite. I love the way Bear Grylls does everything. I use to see it regularly on Discovery Channel ! - Digital -
I am not a huge fan, yes it is entertaining but as far as survival skills goes I prefer Surviorman with Les Stroud, his shows seems to provide much more survival advice then Man vs Wild
Bear Grills might be a survival expert, but his show is more for entertainment then anything else. He has done stuff that goes against all of the rules of wilderness survival - such as eating raw meat from an animal he found already dead. In an episode in africa, they had this dead zebra that was supposed to have died for unknown reasons. Bear pulls out his knife, starts whacking on the zebra meat - at one point almost cutting his own leg - then eats the meat raw. This is an excellent way to expose yourself to blood borne pathogens, parasites, rabies and all kinds other diseases. In a real survival situation you never eat raw meat, much less from an animal you found already dead. When cutting meat, you never "whack" it. Use the knife to slice off the pieces you want. When you swing a knife blade, there is always a risk of cutting yourself. I like watching his show, but I also wonder how he gets through some of them alive. Or how many times he wound up in the hospital a few days later with a stomach bug.
I do like Man Vs Wild program on Discovery Channel.IT GIVES US INSPIRATION ABT HOW MAN CAN LIVE IN ADVERSE CONDITION.ITS MORE INFORMATICS.
Yep. Crocs are ok, but what is more disturbing, when he sometimes eats raw rotten flesh and snakes and worms ... I never eat while watching his show.
