Any eCommerce alternative to Magento?

Discussion in 'eCommerce' started by surelacard, May 20, 2010.

I've worked with Magento before and it's nothing but time consuming and frustrating with bugs and slow as hell. Not to mention, community support is pretty much dead unless you're paying thousands of dollars into their Professional/Enterprise Edition and BS customer support.

Can anyone recommend/suggest me any eCommerce alternative (free and paid) to Magento? Thanks.

Yes, there are many. Look into wordpress (not made for ecommerce, but VERY easy to handle CMS), OScommerce, zencart, or alternatively, http://tinyurl.com/23628jw

But seriously, searching will give you a better idea of whats out there as well. I'm a wordpress guy, but many like other software.

Maybe it may not suit your particular needs but have a look at the cart in my signature. It's fast, has a free trial version and comes with permanent free help

    oscommerce, zencart

You may want to try avactis. Good card and it can integrate into a website rather than try to integrate a website into a cart like most others.

You can choose alternative to magento as per your requirements. There are no of ecommerce solutions such as Oscommerce, x-cart Customization, Zen-cart Cutomization, Virtumart is an open-source, free shopping cart plug-in designed to function with Joomla.

@cashturner, amen! I'm working with pinnacle cart right now, and it seems promising, if you have the money to pay for it!
