Any Ebay Powersellers on Digital Point?

    Hey,

I just got an eBay account so that I could sell my PSP which I don't use anymore. I'm also looking into the idea of selling on eBay for profit. Is it as easy as getting an item from a pawn shop and selling it on eBay for a 5-20$ profit and repeat the process with 100 other items to make a lot of money?

I thought about buying and reselling on eBay but the shipping just shoots down any profit opportunity. I know it's easier to have a shop because you get alot of the same people who keep buying stuff from you, but I'm sure you could still profit an eBay shop.

How did you guys start off making money on eBay? Where would you get your supply's?
( of course you don't need to tell me exactly where, if you get stuff from pawn shops you don't need to mention on which street and the name)

    Help will be appreciated:)

Click the link to my blog under my name, it has a guide to free ebooks, and on that site, it has a ebook about Ebay Dropshippers, A wholesale retailers one, and one about how to profit off Ebay.

    Hope this helps...

You can get stuff everywhere... Look in your closet! I'm sure there is something in there that you don't need. Sell it on ebay. Go to estate sales, yard sales, etc. Pawn shops would probably work well too. Offer to sell stuff for your friends and split the profit with them. Let them clean out their closets too. And if you have a Self-Storage place nearby, keep an eye out there. If someone doesn't pay their storage fees, the storage company will usually just throw out all of their stuff and it's free for the taking.

Junk is everywhere, and one man's junk is another man's treasure...

I sell on ebay for a living, For the family business and antiques and glassware for myself, And all I can say is EBAY treats me VERY well, I have 1 power seller account and then 1 that I am working on getting there, The powerseller status is sometimes not worth accepting, but there is good potential on that site if you know what your doing and how to run a ebay business effectively, if you can the sky is the limit, well it will at least help out with extra income :) and you meet some very nice people.

If you're interested in selling via eBay I'd recommend you check out SaleHoo.com - it has a great directory of dropshippers and wholesalers, although it costs $67 to register. I'm currently a member.

Can it just work buying stuff from ebay and selling on ebay again

E.g. buy wholesale and sell individually

I was thinking of doing this and starting off with a small product and get about $200 worth then keep investing what i make for a while till i can start and get pretty big whole sale packages

Would that work on ebay or does it usually only work with wholesalers outside ebay

    Thanks

Yeah there is certainly a lot of money to be made on eBay, I know of a few people who sell there on full time basis. The majority of them started selling items they no longer had a use for like toys, clothes, and videos. It was then that they saw the potential of eBay and started to look for something to sell on a regular basis. Its a lot easier said that done these days. A few years a go eBay was a lot smaller, but thousands of people have now caught on to eBay's potential and took full advantage of it. As a result of this, many markets are saturated such as branded electronics, designer clothing, and DVDs/ Video Games; basically the in demand products. So if you plan to sell them don't expect to make a huge income or to get it easy! The key to selling on eBay is to find a niche where the market is barely touched. Below is a list of a few advantages of finding a niche:

    - Very few sellers; this means you will not have to lower your prices persistently to avoid loosing custom. You should aim to make around 40% profit to be a viable business. If your looking to sell as a "business" on eBay, you will need to register as a business and pay the correct taxes. So if your having to lower your pricing a lot then its going to be even harder to make money.

    - Repeat Custom; If your the only seller, or one of very few. People will keep returning to you. For example, if someone brought a tennis racket from you, three weeks later they may need some new grip for it, which they would buy from you.

    - Allows opportunity to expand; the chances are if your product is not being sold by many people. Then there are many ways you can expand in the future to make the product more specific to your company. For example, you could add your own branding to it (Company name, logo, trademark, etc.). Apple, Sony, Microsoft - with your own branding on the products you can then think about selling to a distributor, who can then supply to large retail outlets.

There are many more great reasons why you should not take the typical route of iPods, Games Consoles, Designer Clothing, and so forth. If you want to build a stable and profitable business you need to think outside of the box.

I just dont even bother with selling on ebay, wholesale or dropshipping. The market is so saturated you'll just get undercut badly.

The only place where I see you can make some money ebay wise is looking for low cost goods at garage/yard sales and then selling them on ebay. But that can turn out to be a full time job. As everyone said the dropshipping/wholesale market is very saturated.

You clearly looking in all the wrong places?

Let me guess, you searched for a wholesaler on Google? Selling PS3's, iPods, etc.?

I speak from experience, there is a lot of good money to be made on eBay. For example, at the release of the Wii I imported 10 Cartons of silicon cases (roughly 600pcs). I picked them up for 49p in the UK, after VAT and duties. I sold them all within two months, at £4.00 + £1.00 shipping. So after eBay/ PayPal fees, shipping fees, tax, I made around £3.70 profit on each one. £2220 profit for very little work. If you look now, the market for this particular item is saturated. So they DO still sell, but for a lower price and not so frequently. That was a product with a small life span, so you need to think of something that is constantly in demand and never really gets old. CCTV equipment, Gardening Furniture, DIY Tools, etc. These are the products you need to look for, there is little competition and people need these things from January to December.

Please do take my word for this, despite my low post count. I do speak from experience and there is a lot of money to be made on eBay. Just go for it!:)

Just one problem... How can you get enough products form "Yard sales and Pawn Shops" to be a viable business? You need a product you can source a regular supply of, which you certainly can't when buying from the places mentioned.

Likewise, dropshipping is far from "A classic way"! As I've already mentioned.

You need to think of selling on eBay as a full time business. This does not mean just find some junk around the house to sell and that's it.

You need a continuous supply of products..and many of them in order to bring in profits from multiple lines.

I make loads of money on eBay selling imported products (after fees) that you too can get easily.

BTW, i've got a how to make money on eBay video course out soon.

If you're serious about making money on ebay, you have to learn the techniques about ebay arbitrage and spend most of the time browsing the site.

lol well i finally found a small niche, only about 7-8 people have ads on it. I sell it for 8$ and people purchase about 3 day. It's a guide, won't tell you what though of course :D

Profit margin is 100% since its written on computer
    VERY low competition

24$ a day x 7 = 168$ , good enough for a guide that took me 5 minutes to do. Also very easy money for a young teenager :D

All I had to do was think a little outside the box.

I have been a Powerseller but my category became saturated and now I am moving on into another. There is good money to be made on eBay but it is an everchanging market.
