    I am in India and coming to LA within a few months. I have no idea about the city, where to stay, etc.

    I am about an hour away (with traffic) in a town called Artesia. and trust me, LA isn't by far the best thing in south california.

    there are stil many placs in LA.
    you could go to the downtown, chinatown, local malls or just sight seeing.

    Los Angeles is too big. It's got to be one of the biggest cities in the US. You can get around Manhattan without a car fine.
