I need to convert a wmv and a mov into a Flv file,

can anybody recommend some good Free downloadable wmv-> flv converts, which will convert the wmv file to a flv file, reducing the file size.

    - will converting the wmv file to a flv file reduce the filesize by alot?

-how will this affect the video quality (converting it to a flv) ?

    Thanks in advance

Quick Media Converter (GMC) on CocoonSoftware.com works great for most video conversions, I've found.
You can choose the output bitrate, which will change both the file quality and size. I'm not sure how the compression compares to .wmv or .mov files though...

The file size depends on the compression rate and the codec you choose.
Desktop converter, you can use Video4Web Converter, which is free and converts all popular video to flv with H.264.
I heard that Adobe Flash encoder can also do this, but I don't try it.

But in my personal experience, the freeware always have some problems more or less.its quality can not be guaranteed. :)
If you need, you can try Allok Video to FLV Converter, it can convert almost all video formats, e.g.DivX, XviD, AVI, WMV, MPG, MPEG, MP4, M4V, FLV, 3GP, ASF, RM, RMVB, MOV, MOD, ASX, MKV, OGM, SVCD, VCD, VOB to FLASH Video (SWF, FLV) formats. Following is a step by step guide:
    http://www.flash-video-soft.com/avi-to-flv/
the file size depends on the bit rate and frame rate you choose.
If you stick to freeware, ffmpeg would be your best choice, it's an open source video converter.
