If you are a Dad or want to share parenting info., tips, and general discussion please check it out. We are trying to grow the forum before the main site launch. Good stuff already there with a lot more coming in the near future. Thanks for your support! Also, what kinds of things would you suggest would be good giveaways for people who join the website? Just a quick suggestion that many people overlook when designing a site. Put some content at the top of the page so the people can determine what your site is about at a glance. You will decrease your bounces by doing this. I looked at your site for about 1 minute. I don't really know what kind of topics are covered, or what aspect of being a Dad you are discussing.
Yeah, the cart is kinda ahead of the horse on this. We haven't launched the main site yet, which is much more content rich. This is currently just the forum, which will eventually be a link off of the main site. Once the main site is up, it will be easy to see what topics are covered. I am not sure why you don't know what topics are covered though, it's a forum. Just read the categories and posts inside. ??? Thanks for the feedback though. Hello Dads World. I'm excited about your forum and what it can offer. I decided I should do a review to help with layout, design and ideas. My Review Domain Name Awesome domain name! Logo The logo could be done better. Especially with an excellent domain name like yours... it deserves an excellent logo! Template I find the template for dark... almost like a gamers template... I would suggest looking for something more fitting... It seems that there are free ones here on DP... Have a look at this one here. I haven't looked at this one.. but it is listed here in DP too..... Template Navigation I tried most of your links and they seem to work. The only thing I would suggest is placing a copy of your 'Jump To' field at the top of your forum also. Is it possible to put the top links in one line of text rather than the two rows of lines its in right now? Topics It would be good if there were topics such as 'Parenting Tips', 'Ideas for Kids Meals' and so on.... Conclusion Thats my review for now. I hope to see more changes.... and I'll watch progress.... to see how the membership grows and popularity.... especially since I'm a dad too... Thanks Lhlalyam! Very specific feedback. I am constantly making adjustments on the layout. Most of our time right now is focused on the main site though. I purposely made the background dark, like you said, almost like a gamers site. My experience is that nearly all sites that have anything to do with parenting are geared toward women and use pastels and light colors. I am going for a much more masculine look. Black, shiny silver, carbon fiber, red, orange, etc. The main site has the same color scheme as well as my blog. The main site will have lots of information for Dads, not just parenting stuff either. We have product reviews, gadgets, electronics, outdoor gear, etc. as well as recommended books and articles from guest contributors on topics like: insurance, mortgages, real estate, health and fertility, high performance driving, wills and estates, fashion, etc. Thanks for the feedback and please do keep checking on the site. Hi dadsworld, Nice site, it's about time there was something out there for the dads or dads to be. I'm on the other end of the scale and cater for the women from pre-pregnancy to parenting.
