The site has potential but I think it could be improved. 1. The header does not fit in well with the theme of the site. 2. The header is by itself it should be part of the template, I think the site would look better if you removed it. 3. I think you should get a professional logo for the site.
If there is no horizontal scrollbar when visitors with 1024x768 screen resolution visit your website, it will be better.
Ok so your using blogspot which is fine! You can get loads of free templates that will really make your site look 100% more professional. Try using this site eblogtemplates They have some really high quality trmplates there for free. I use them on my own blogspot blog. Also try changing or even removing your banner as it has no relevance to your site! Also I noticed a dead picture URL at the bottom of the site. On a good note I like your favicon icon, Your adds are alos well blended in and there in the right places. So basically remove the banner or change the template and your sites ready to go
It does not look bad, but the top image does not go with the rest of the page and it takes to much time to load.
