Game owners, MMORPG, browser based, gamer community/boards and similar? I've been working rather hard for last 5-6 days with development and promotion of my service. (In signature you can see what's it about). Still, I find it hard to reach other webmasters. I mean, using DP has resulted with few signups of affiliate marketing, competitors, and similar. Not too useful And I've used marketing sections of most popular communities in that niche. In general, did any of you had any experience with marketing something among other webmasters? Not end users. I do believe I am providing interesting service for startup and established websites, but start has proven to be rougher than expected, must say. Any tips? I was thinking about AdWords. My best 2 cents. If someone has any tip from past experience, I'd be grateful. Thank you
The way I see it, banner exchanges are a bad idea for browser based games. People who play these games are very loyal visitors. They see tens or even hundreds of pages (and their respective ads) per visit and have no intention of leaving the game which results in a very low clickthrough rate. Mine is in the E-5 region, which is way less than the 2% you're promising. Gaming forums may be different. I haven't tried advertising on them since I like to stick to my top lists.
Try to contact them through twitter. Its popular and many webmasters tweet all day. Also try other marketing forums.
Search for blog posts or articles that other webmasters post, find good sites and contat the webmasters in person.Explain them briefly what your service is about and avoid competitors Unfortunatelly there is no easy way for that.If you spend Y money in order to develop a service you need 10x Y for marketing campaigns...
