Most video streaming services charge hundreds of Pounds for their services. Is there any affordable service for a startup website ?
    Cheers

    Hello:

If you are looking for a flash based solution you can have a look at this article. It tells you what you need to start streaming your content on the Internet. It also depends what features you expect from a streaming service: will you do SD or HD ? Do you need also recording capabilities ? Ads during the live presentations? It may cost you hundred of Pounds but you may get a lot of features. I set some priorities before choosing one service or another. Here is the article I was talking about:
    thehdstandard.com/hd-broadcaster/

See me offline if you need any assistance in streaming your content.

I can supply either Red5 or Flash Media Server services and since I don't do this commercially (per se) I can give you a good price.

PM if you're still looking and need someone right away.

The easiest way is just to use YouTube or MySpace video and then embed those onto the website. It's faster, easier, and doesn't take up space on our server.

It is the easiest - if you are simply uploading videos and want to share them. Video on Demand is fairly simple.

If by streaming, the writer means live broadcast then YouTube won't work.

Sort of hard to make an informed guess since we lack information.

For video on demand any host with lots of cheap bandwidth can be used.

For live streaming Red5 is the most affordable solution.
For best performance Wowza is the solution used by big boys like LiveStream, Justin TV and also available with some wowza hosting providers.
