Hello. You know, many CB sellers are offering discount prices for their products when visitors are about to leave their websites. As an affiliate, I would like to ask if the following practices are allowed or not. First, advertise the discount price at my product review site to let the buyers know they can enjoy such a discount. Second, put the Clickbank order link for the discount offer directly at my product review site. Waiting for your kind reply. Thanks
Shouldnt be a problem - the product vendor might not like the idea trough. From experience, its better that you dont use such practice however. The reason is because you and everyone will in the long run loose money with it. At first you will improve your conversion rate, (because you offer a discount), then your competitors will find out and will do the same as you - and you will be back to square one. Everyone will be offering it so noone will have any incentive to buy from you - which means that less money for you for each sale...
@web_18designer Many sellers are using the exit pop up discount trick to 'steal' commission from affiliates since when visitors click the links to close the pop up or other links in the pop up, they will be redirected to an order page that the CB cookie is set to the sellers themselves. So if it is possible, it is better to put the order link in your review site.
I see affiliates giving out discounts, but you should check with the vendor first, I know for fact one of the vendors on clickbank says in his affiliate page that giving out discount of his product is not allowed. So always check with the vendor.
You wont get banned for it, but it's not a smart practice. If a vendor is "stealing" your commissions using the exit popup, stop promoting that product. I wouldn't work with a vendor doing anything like that...
Yeah, it would definitely work, and ClickBank aren't really that strict when it comes to affiliate best practices. However, anyone using exit pop's that reset affiliate cookies is a j*ck**s anyway, and I for one wouldn't work with them.
