and better than Hotmail and Gmail..? as a free service.

i liked yahoo very much because of the folder layout.

Gmail is crap for organizing folders....just garbage !! Hotmail design is bad too.

So...what else is there...not Outlook either....?

Yahoo mail is the best so far. But google mail has more storage space.

you can now mix thunderbird and gmail together - fixes the folder issue. Check gmail blog for more info

Yeap I feel it is better this way, who knows when gmail run out of space, best to have a copy in Thunderbird which is more customizable too.

For me I try not to keep my emails online, you never know when you are hacked or when their email server crash (does not apply to gmail)

Thought they were both unlimited storage. I know Yahoo did away with the storage meter after Google upped the ante to a Gig of space.

Yep, at the present even I use G-Mail as my primary mail storage system but it is a bit slow sometimes especially with the new version which makes it all kinda laggy.

Well Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail are already the best out there. Gmail is my favorite.

    Oh!
Surprising to see that there are some people who still use IE :p
I would rather have a laggy G-Mail in Frefox than have a laggy and crappy browsing experience with ie7.

thanks for the replies. I will look into Thunderbird add-on.
I asked this question primarily because yahoo has purposely (without me doing anything to the spam settings) permanently deferred some form-mail emails from a new site because it has spam type words ( insurance). So, I am waiting on an answer from them so they un-defer the email sent 2 days ago.

I prefer Gmail. No unlimited data store then also I prefer it because I found it fast and safe than others.

Doesn't your ISP come with email? Like for example, I have a gmail, MSN, Yahoo, and a video mail account, But I use my Comcast account for most of my e mail communication that isn't safelist stuff in which case I use Gmail. Yahoo gets on my nerves because it's all slow.
