    Hi,
Can people share their experience of pointing too much coop weight on a single url or on multiple urls on a single domain and facing problems with google. And any advice on how much to limit it to for a single domain ?

I've been pointing massive weight at my URLs for sometime. Every now and then a term drops from first page of Google to fourth or beyond.... From what I can tell, it's almost always been a fault of my own and not the co-op.. like jerking the title of a page which is already doing well.. I've done this a couple of times in the past and rankings have dropped considerably almost exactly three days (next cache) after the edit was made. This leads me to believe that in the current algo attempting to tweak an already well ranking page will almost certainly bring about trouble. (Maybe others can confirm this also?)

This has taught me a valuable lesson.. to always get the "on-page" SEO perfect before starting with aggressive linking.

Other than that I've never had problems with even pointing 80k+ weight at a single term.

Presently, (for a client of mine) I'm after an extremely competitive one word term. When we started piling on the co-op weight, the ranking was on the sixth page in Google. Every week we add 20-30k weight... and the results are almost mathematically perdictable. Each new cache saw the page jump 10-15 spots in the early days and 1-3 spots presently. After adding 80k, we finally broke into the first page. We plan to keep going till we hit middle of the first page at which time all the previous linking will pay for itself many times over.

    Hope that was helpful.

I had something similar happen to me at MSN. Was ranked at #1 and got greedy, so I decided to add an extra keyword on my title. I dropped like a rock, and now after very hard work I'm at #8, but climbing back is now very hard

For this reason, now I'm even scared to adjust my adsense placement on a well ranking page. Paranoid that even the slightest edit will screw up the rankings.

It refers to how you want the ads displayed on your site, not how you want your ads displayed on others.

You have to use the latest code from your control panel

I think this thread went off topic but I want to bring attention my question again. I did some research and found some established sites using a lot of coop weight on a keyword (thousands of coop backlinks) not ranking in google but still ranking in msn. From the age of these websites they do not look like sandboxed. So, have these urls been knocked off from google because of too many backlinks with same anchor text ? I will be grateful if members can share what is the maximum coop weight they have putt on a single domain without getting adversely affected in google. This concerns me more since the time i heard there is something called googlebowling.

If there is a googlebowling filter then I guess we must diversify the keywords.

spdude, did this site already rank well when you poured on the weight or did you see the rankings move up evenly by adding weight? Did you only target one keyword or target a theme of keywords?

Thankyou for sharing your experience !
