    Hello,

I have been planning to develop an application for Android platform. i can only use simulator.
    The ideas i have are

    1. Audio and Video player with editing support for both audio and video . (We will not be laying our hands on the android phone itself. We will be using the emulator only as android phones are not available in the market here in India)

    2. Instant messenger with email client

    3. Voice recognizer with ability to recognize voice commands and respond accordingly

    4. Create a compressed file format and create a video player which plays only that format and that too on Android platform.

    5. Security software that analyses the IMEI number of mobile phone and sends a security alert if the phone sim is changed.

I am new to Java environment and has been working on turbo CPP for a while now... So I need to know if these ideas will work out or not.

I think the best for you is to search the development site of android and get an IDE and some handbooks about this matter to help you to begin. It is almost sure that you will use another cpp compiler for it and maybe you can use java midlet to build applications in java for android too.

Maybe there are android developers here. I used to develop java midlets to the linux plataform for motorola a1200 smartphone. I think that it is not too different to develop java for android.

All your ideas are possible except tracking the sim card...
