As supplemental index is out as announced by google; are there any alternatives for it.. My doubt is that, pages went to supplemental if they had very less or no backlinks, duplicate content etc. if im not wrong.. So what happens now if pages have the same problem?
I don't know...I never feared the supplemental index...I still got traffic from my pages that were in supplemental......
The separation of the main and supplementary Index is probably still there. What has been removed is the indication that it is a supplementary page. As site-owner, you could get some idea from traffic, but is difficult to find the separation precisely.
in my opinion, they have only stopped the labeling supplemetal index. they continue to use supplemental pages
Remove duplicate content on the pages, have unique meta tags, and get more backlinks to the supplemental pages.
That is right, they have stopped labeling the pages that are in supplemental results, but the supplemental results still exist. The best cure for supplemental results is .. backlinks to that page. The page needs to be well linked from inner pages and as well as from other pages. It just needs some votes, and it needs to remain unique (not copied from other sites or within your site).
Google will soon be removing supplemental labels so you will never know, but the good news is that they claim that the supplemental index will no longer be needed and that 'all' sites will apparently get on to the SERPS.
They just dropped the tag in the SERPs. Use site:www.yoursite.com& to list the pages in supplemental index only.
