Hey, My web host doesnt offer awstats (1and1 shared hosting basic package). Is there anyway that i can insatll awstats somewhere, or i can awstats somewhere? 2nd: Is there any other stats system (like statcounter) which can show the about bot activities (eg. how many bots visited everyday like awstat), and also which can show users came from which search engines Please guide me through this Thanks to all

I've used awstats for over 2 years since now and loved them. However Google analytics are making a big splash with me and I am now putting it onto all of my clients. Its quicker, simpler, with more data and uses. Also, some hosts dont give geolocations due to the resource usage it takes, but google does it free and more in depth, down to the state and city level.
Did 1and1 give you a reason why they don't have awstats, or if they give you permission to install AWstats for your account? If they gave you permission, here is a how-to install awstats tutorial, even tho, i would save the hassle and use Google Analytics instead (personally i consult both, G Analytics and AWstats).
