Im looking to find a purchasing partner in other countries
so i can export cheap stuff overseas, and have been on
Alibaba for a few days now, scouring for trustworthy persons
that might be looking to buy cheap clothes, and second hand computers
but it just seems like there are alot of jokers on there.
Anyone have any success with selling things to an Alibaba contact?

Our clients have tried Alibaba a couple of months ago, and it was a nightmare of a life time for them..

They came across a Nigerian who promised to send 3 laptops for $1000 to my clients.

After sending the money through Western union, ( the money was not even sent to confirmed to the recipient )
yet they eloped with the money..

My client swears, not to trust unknown people so easily ever again...

does it happen so often at Alibaba?
    any insight on this please?

    cheers,
    venkata

Alibaba is a gold mine for Nigerian scamers. I think they never made so much money as they do there. Everyone wants to get paid in advance and it is so difficult to check if the company is real or not.

I have been with Alibaba for years. I used to import MP4 players from China to the USA.

The key to getting attention there is to post a trade lead and to invest in a full membership. Free members, especially exporters, are generally considered scammers on Alibaba.

Even then, those trust pass members can be scammers. Doesn't mean if someone has a trust pass, they can be trusted.

It is so easy to pick out Nigerians i understand, but do you guys know that i got scammed out of my hard earned $120 last month by an American? goldxcash.us
they were supposed to fun my MB for me and they never did, and did not refund my money.
I am supporting Nigerians here, but who the hell is a Nigerian, a black man right? or is it that whenever a person says he is Nigerian, then he is one?
Look, the internet is a very risky place to do business.Anyone can get scammed, and it can be done by Ghanians as well as Americans, afterall you do not even see the person you are conducting business with.
I have bought things via contacts on alibaba, the thing is that one has to be very careful.Don't just give your money to anyone either through western union or paypal.there are so many thieves out there using paypal to perpetrate their crime.

Yes I agree with the comments above.Sending money with Western Union is a very bad way to do business especially if you are importing something. In addition, I have used AliBaba but most of the people are not serious in that site.Try to find the company that manufactures your needs through Google. It will give you mcuh better leads then AliBaba

I have had both good and bad experiences on alibaba try to do your homework on any company you want to do business with as far as western union payments it really depends many companies ask for western union this is usually when the amount is not over a few thousand dollars for example for example orders and I have had little problem my self with western union to china but to the UK I am not saying anything bad about the UK but I have been scammed by people in the UK also from a company in the US and never nigeria but that is becuase I wouldn't deal with them anyways just becuase they are probably the number 1 country for scamers I think if the companies are from china and are trusted members it is because alibaba actually checked them out to see if they are real or not doesn't mean they are all trust worthy there are scamers anywhere there is money to be made or stolen especially on the internet overseas where it is so hard to check up on the companies
