I'm thinking about buying myself a tablet. I just need something more precise than a mouse. Because i'm not really a designer i never had to deal with them so i went on eBay and... well I'm lost. They go for £6 to £200 and i cant even tell the difference between the two. Can anyone recommend me a good one for less? What are the things i need to be looking for? Resolution? Pressure points? Thanks!
All depends on what you want to use it for. I've got an old (tiny) Graphire, and I love it. I've had it for years and it still works perfectly. I use it mostly for detailed (pixel level) retouching, so the tablet size isn't an issue. If you wanted to do sketches or more artistic stuff, then the next size up would probably be better. Wacom are the bees knees in my opinion.
Oh yea, i now see how the prices differ depending on the actual size. Id probably go for something in the middle. Thanks!
These can be a lot of fun, and useful too! My gf uses one of the larger wacom tablets for here graphic design work, I'm not sure the name exactly, but she can't work without it now. They can get a bit pricey though... Sean
