Any advice on getting a unique fashion site going?

I created a fashion website using CodeIgniter. It allows users to create an account and upload their own fashion styles along with a couple of pictures. I was wondering what ways would be best to get this website going? I have gotten together with a few friends to get some content on there, now I just need a way to get viewers.

    Here is my site: trendywhim[dot]com

Bryan, I think what you're trying to accomplish is a wonderful idea. Now, two things before I suggest where to promote it. One, the site's design needs to go. For what you're trying to accomplish you NEED to have a more sophisticated/trendy design. No matter how you look at it, if your idea takes off, the majority of your visitors will be females. (A vast majority of men don't really give a rats ass to fashion, if they are honest). So, you need to appeal to them, females. You can Google some interesting fashion sites to get an idea of where the latest trend in fashion site designs is going today. Two, if you truly want people to be engaged in your site, allow them to upload, at least, up to 10 pics. A couple pics just isn't enough.

The best way to promote it, in my opinion, will be: Facebook, Pinterest, G+, Twitter, craigslist, backpage.

    Best of luck!

Thanks for the advise so far. I can see what you are saying about the design. It seems a little "too" organized. I was thinking a style more on the lines of this site: diesel[dot]com.

I looked through the both websites.
At first, congratulations on you. Because you realy have goal in your mind for your website. Then things can become easy.
1.In my opinion, you can add bookmark button on your website, like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest.
2.You can upload the picture to Pinterest with your website link. If your pin is popuplar, you can get more repins. Then you can get much traffic.
    Hope it helps you.
3.You can also mareket your website to encourage picture lovers to upload pictures on your website. So your pictures will be more and more.

It was mentioned, but for that market, become really active in the Pinterest. Just make sure to link all the pictures to your site!

Right. Either that, or something similar to pinterest (after all this is what most people are used to now when it comes to pinning images).

Start contacting local fashion stores. Ask them if they would be interested in having a special page on your site to highlight pictures of their employees, clients, and fashions. Let them spread the word for you.
