    The long and short of it is that you are going to have to create a resource that is unique and compelling enough that other sites will want to link to. Ask yourself honestly if your site deserves to be on the front page for a query and I think you would agree that you don't really bring anything unique to the table that as a user I could find anywhere.

    ....plenty of advice in this thread on how to increase the sort of backlinks that do not really help. I hope my competitors are reading this thread.
