Is a useful take a expired domain with a decent PR and remain backlinks?

I know that the present backlinks should be related to the new site to get reasonable quality of visits and i will need to work in SEO task to keep the present PR before the next Google PR update.

Also, i'm guessing that i will be very lucky and get a good site and no one took it yet. :)

Then... is it a good idea to start a new site or not?:confused:

Well, when a domain expire the pr drop, but if you build it back again and the backlinks remain, then yes there is a little SEO advantage, old domains are always better then new domains.

I think search engines always prioritize old domain than new. Thats the advantage of old domain.

Old Domains have what is called the "trust" factor. You find that the older sites will generally be indexed quicker, and miss Google's infamous Sandbox (if it actually exists).

Did you do a intensive seo promotion in order to hold the present PR?

You didn't lose so much PR in your mentioned sites.

I know that google backlinks are erased almost immediately, but its PR remain until the next PR update. I guess that it give us some time to promote the new site and gain new backlinks, i hope that it help to hold a decent PR in the next update.

    Thoughts? :)

Yes there is advantage to getting a domain with backlinks even though the PR will change. If the site has been archived for a long time at archive.org and you do a similar site, there is additional benefit.

If you happen to snag a domain on the drop, it can keep its original creation date, which is even better!

    Yes I promoted it !

Also if you are buying a dropped domain there is no problem but you have to promote it extremely well to keep the PR of the site!
