Wow, that's a pretty big difference. Are you sure your Awstat impressions are correct? Either that or you placed your ads only on certain pages.

Awstats will count bots, scrapers, etc as visitors/impressions. Adsense will only count 'real' impressions.
for more accurate stats you should try Analytics.

Google Analytics is not more accurate. It is based on Urchin JavaScript technology and it will return almost the same number of page views as Google AdSense. There is no point in installing Analytics to check AdSense numbers.

AWStats returns different numbers as it also counts pages viewed by robots, pages viewed by visitors who disable JavaScript, pages where you did not put AdSense ads,... Studying AWStats reports and comparing them with AdSense will probably learn you more than comparing Google Analytics reports and Google AdSense reports.

    IMHO

This is exactly why i would have to disagree with you.
I dont know about everyone else's sites, but i get thousands of bots and scrapers hitting my site every day - making AWStats almost useless. Using Analytics gives me a quick, easy, more accurate way of checking what's really happening at the site.
Analytics also does all the graphing and charts that i see by your signature you need add-ins for..

    Of course, YMMV ..
