I agree totally on this even if I don't agree on the reason we went to war, however there is also the chance it could be worse and not better than before.

Mike. no offence, but stay away from this one with those kinds of comments.

what you state has no meaning or bearing on anything.

Iraq has a future and a chance to make things better - Yep it never had a future before.

otherwise it would have been the same old crap for many years - Same old crap ? your house and family can only be blown up once.

for many years and generations to come - If we dont stop there will be generations of new kids blowing my and your kids up.

I respect you for that. What matters is tomorrow and not a personal negative opinion about our government etc. It's also important to stand as one as a nation and get thru this united. Too bad the world doesn't see it like that. Like Will stated, Anti-American sentiment seems to be more important than the well-being of the people of a 3rd world country.

Saddam was chosen by the same people. Iran has regular elections too, on the other hand, your friends Saudis have no election. ;)

Show elections are nothing new in middle east politics.

There is not a source with your quote, so it's hard to say. Just taking a wild guess here, but have you considered comparing the dates of the two articles? Whichever one is the newest would be my bet. How about you?

    Obviously, you should believe both.

Talabani is opposed to U.S. forces staying in Iraq forever. duh.

He also needs U.S. forces in Iraq right now.

Back to my earlier attempt to make this really simple to understand.

I have poisonous spiders in my basement. I want them killed. I am inviting an exterminator into my house to kill the spiders. I want him to kill all of the spiders. Then, I want him to leave.

I want the exterminator in my house, but not forever. I want him in my house until his work here is done.

Talabani wants the U.S. to stay in Iraq as long as they need to be in Iraq. He doesn't want to have U.S. forces in Iraq after that time.

Why is this so bloody difficult for you to understand????

I think it all boils down to the fact that nothing will ever be good enough for you gworld.

by the way, why did you just insult everyone in this thread and never come back? Just curious.

    Another great QOTD.

Where are you from that you learned to talk like this? Were you raised completely without manners or common sense?

The source is Guardian newspaper in UK but I don't think we should believe any of it. He has a bad habit of selling himself to the highest bidder and will say anything that serve him in that moment. Do you know that he was even a Leninist at one time?

You are entitled to your personal opinion. What I know is, that if he doesn't do his job, he (like any others) will be voted out. And I can't help but think that the 60% plus of the country who voted in January doesn't appreciate the opportunity to elect their leaders. I just can't understand why some want to deny them that. Strange world we live in

No its not, without knowing your history you will make the same errors time and time again.
NO ITS NOT, Its important to try and stop people dying and not allow ANY country to attack anyone. Isolated attitudes like thios are what is earning you a bad rep.. Go tour Europe & Asia and see how often you have to apologise as people throw bad sentiment at you, even though you personally didnt do a damn thing + I m sure would save an Iraqi if you saw one dying.
DOH! Well if the WORLD doesnt see your point of view surely you should look at what your actions are. (you being a general you and not a specific you toots)
Sorry, I missed that one, your foot finally ended up in your mouth.
I doubt there is ANYONE on this forum that cares more about hating the US more than saving a '3rd world country' - that is an insult.

Iraq is not "3rd world" Well it WASNT until...well you know when.

You know very little about Iraq, history, religion, politics or world affairs, it seems and this kind of comment is offensive because of its ignorance. Just learn & understand first.

Its NOT about Importance, or Anti American sentiment. The UK is right there too and we are not getting the same anti brit sentiment.. why is that do you think ??

How about if the exterminator in the mean time kill your wife and children, steal everything you have in your house and by the time that he leaves you have to rent your own house from him? Do you still want him in your house?

Abdullah Najim Abdullah Mohamed Al-Jawari. :D

Abdullah also used the name Abu Azzam.

He was turned into U.S. forces by an Iraqi.

It is not my personal opinion, his group was fighting against Iranian opposition and if I am not mistaken he was living in Iran for awhile also. I think Saddam in 2002 election achieved something like 98% of all eligible votes in Iraq. These type of presidents are not chosen by elections. ;)
