That figure is for a family. Here are the actual numbers from the census bureau: http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/poverty/threshld/thresh04.html
Looks like yo-yo is quoting (without sources, as usual) more his indy-media reading. Why post a source, when you can make them up as you go along? Always whining and crying. What else would a liberal do?
Funny coming from someone who quotes sources like Rupert Murdoch's Weekly Standard. And from someone who is constantly whining about "Liberals this....liberals that...WAHHH WAHHH WAHH!"
Someone has to point out what a liberal does best Whine, complain, moan. Some day a liberal will actually have an idea!
Notice how you can't post without referring to one of your little labels for people. "My name is GTech, and if you don't agree with me YOU'RE A PUSSY-ASS LIBERAL! VARMINT!"
Actually those facts can be found on pages 1-40 of this very thread! You're funny, Gtech. I bet you're sitting on your porch right now with your shotgun laying across your lap. Just waiting for someone to come to your house and say that they're going to raise taxes.
Just 1-40? So much reading! Don't own a gun, though I did many years. I'm sitting in my recliner watching Ultimate Fighter, knowing I have about fifty buttons to create for an osCommerce customer, dreading doing it. Chilling, mostly.
Funny... republicans do so much better: 1. spend more money and further national debt. 2. increase poverty. 3. start un-needed wars and kill innocent people. 4. dodge facts and make excuses for lies Here you are making more personal attacks when you can't touch post #800 with bush's lies and falsified reasons for an unjust war... keep ignoring the facts but they won't go away http://www.ems.org/energy_policy/refineries.html http://www.workers.org/ww/2004/bigoil0603.php http://www.publici.org/wow/report.aspx?aid=366&sid=100 http://www.vinceandjessica.com/rascalcountdown.html "The national average retail regular gasoline price was $1.47.1 cents per gallon on January 22, 2001" when Bush took office. http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/...t/historical/2001/2001_01_24/pdf/highlite.pdf "Surging oil and natural gas prices and robust refining margins factored into last year's(2004) record $25.3 billion in net income and a leading 24% return on capital employed." - BusinessWeek http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/05_14/b3927408.htm "When the profits of major oil companies reached a record $53 billion in 2003 and far surpassed the results from 2002, the big percentage increases in profits helped support the impression that oil profits are excessive." - ConocoPhillips http://www.conocophillips.com/newsroom/other_resources/energyanswers/oil_profits.htm Theres some of those sources you wanted

For example: Unemployment rate is currently 4.9%. A number NEVER reached in the Clinton administration. In fact, 5.6% was the number hit where democrats hailed Clinton's policies for bringing it to that level. Of course, 5.6 is only good enough when a Democrat is in office. But when 4.9% is hit in a Republican office, what happens? Of course, complaining. All complaints, never a solution. What else would a liberal do?
Gtech Did you found any source from: 1- White House 2- US Senate 3- US Congress 4- CIA 5- FBI 6- Other US government agencies 7- United Nations including different agencies in that organization 8- Any International signed treaty That says Sulfuric Acid, Hydrogen prexoide, Nitroglycerin or Oxygen are classified as WMD? Can you show that Iraq was prohibited to have any of these chemicals according to USA's demands before the war? If you can't, are you ready to admit that the chemicals found in Jordan was not classified as WMD and Iraq was not even prohibited to have these materials, OR Are you going to keep quite and repeat the same LIES in another threads?
Do you think that Saddam should have stayed in power? You seem to defend him every chance that you can get.
gworld, I thought for sure by now, you would understand that the more information you try to confuse a topic with (such as comparing 20 tons of chemical wmd to mouthwash and hair dye) doesn't make you right. In fact, I challenged you to prove that these chemicals mixed together are not a chemical wmd. But as usual, you ignore it. Andy Oppenheimer, a wmd expert, said these chemicals mixed together would make a chemical wmd. You are probably not even aware that I answered you several pages ago. Surely that is the reason you keep posting in Red and large print, because your ego is getting the best of you and you think you can drive this home by making obscure demands based in a chemical individually. As I answered last time, it's not about these chemicals individually. That is what you are trying to make it. They were not individual chemicals. There were many, including the ones you refer to that when combined together, make a chemical wmd as mentioned by a wmd expert. Of course, it doesn't take an expert to realize that 20 tons of chemical wmd that could kill 80,000 people, is a chemical wmd. How many people dead constitutes a chemical wmd by al qaida? None, right? That's what you said before, that it's not about how many dead there are So you keep trying to defend the terrorists. Keep quiet? Never Don't flatter yourself. Just keep pretending that 80,000 people don't matter and these nice young terrorists were on their way to a Martha Stewart white sale. But then people here already know what you support, right?
Not an argument, but do you think the unemployment rate would be as low as it is if the troops were not in Iraq? Afterall those troops currently outside of the US have jobs which need to be filled in many cases with temps, or do the temps or new hires not equate into the job factor? Kind of appears to be an artificial jump in the numbers just taking into account the soldiers not currently being in the states that would be if a war was not going on.
Andy Oppenheimer can make up any BS that he likes to but US governmanet, UN and Intetnational treaties say, it doesn't. Provide a SOUCRE like White house, any governmanet agency, CIA, FBI, US Army, US Navy, US Airforce, US senate, US congress, UN, UN agnecies, any international treaties that say: 1- Sulfuric Acid, Hydrogen prexoide, Nitroglycerin or Oxygen are classified as WMD. or 2- The combination is classifed as WMD or 3- Iraq was prohibited to have any of these chemicals according to USA's demands before the war. or 4- STOP MAKING STORIES AND TELL THE TRUTH
How is asking Gtech to tell the truth is helping Saddam? Do you mean the only way to real democracy is by lies? I don't think that Saddam should have been in power but it seems US government didn't have any problem with having him in power. Unlike Gtech lies, I would like to work with truth and official documents, the official reason for war according to Mr. Bush and US government was to enforce UN resolution 1441, can you show me where in resolution 1441 is any discussion about democracy and Iraq people freedom and rights? "Resolution 1441. After an internal debate, the Administration decided to workthrough the U.N. Security Council to force Iraq to disarm. In a September 12, 2002 speechbefore the United Nations, President Bush implicitly threatened U.S. military action, unilateral if necessary, if the United Nations did not enforce existing resolutions on Iraq.Four days later, Iraq pledged to admit UNMOVIC inspectors without conditions, reversinga position taken during several meetings with the United Nations in 2002. On October 11,Congress completed work on a resolution (H.J.Res. 114, P.L. 107-243) authorizing the useof U.S. armed forces against Iraq." Iraq: Weapons Programs, U.N. May be U.S congress is not telling the truth and we should only believe you and Gtech?
