Doug Some religious nut case decided to take arms against the government and got himself and other morons following him killed. Did the FBI and government handled the situation right? Probably not, but it is always easier to be wise after the facts. Is it sad that people and specially children died? Yes, does it change the fact that they were crazy fanatics (adults)? NO. There are more innocent people dying in Iraq and many other places, so get over it. The outcome wouldn't have been any better under Bush either since they would have certainly been labeled as terrorists and dealt harshly with.
Generally: Americans care for 1. soldiers in Iraq 2. iraqi civillians 3. iraqi resistence Europeans care for 1. iraqi civillians 2. iraqi resistence(french people use to care more for them) 3. soldiers in Iraq
Thanks. Please don't get things personal when I answer. I have many problems with the reasons you brought but let me only talk about one of them and only one side of it, Europeans and "iraqi civillians" I saw millions of European in the streets of London, Paris, ... protesting against Bush, shouting against him, crying for Iraq girl who dies but hundreds of thousands sudani have been raped, turtured, their stuff taken away, their kids killed in front of their eyes but I haven't seen at least the same amount to protest. Were were they when Saddam killed ten thousands of Kurd just in one day? Were were they when Taliban denied Afghani girls even reading a book. Were were they when Khomeini dragged 30000 opposition out of prison, gave them a letter to sign, they didn't, executed them. Anti-wars just increase the number of deads in Iraq, they have managed to reach to 100,000. This was the best they could do, but near 1000000 - YES ONE MILLIION- have been killed in Sudan in just a few years and are being killed but nobody cares. Give me a break They just pay a few Euro for charity and clear their consiece. Isn't it the time that people in powerfull countries come out and ask their leaders to put an immediate stop to this shame on human race? - if they don't know how US knows, Bosnia, rang a bell? - Yes my freind, Eurpean are worried about civilians only when they can put the blame on America. You are from America, arent you? If you are European I am wasting my time. European know every thing they just pretend they don't know. So lets atleast agree on first item on the aganda, European are not worried about iraqi civilians They have never been worried, they just watched for 3 years when serbs killed and raped Bosnian. They could just ask USA kindly but they didn't. hail to America for saving them. Come on, go and ask a french about US sacrifition in saving Bosnian, the first thing they mention is a few civilian killed by US bombardment. .
What the hell are you talking about now? Did you take your pills this morning? Off in never never land with all the other trolls. You go G...
Because Bush is not there. If he was, believe me, you would hear protests. The suffering would be his fault, he'd be called a Nazi, a war criminal, and of course he'd be off helping his buddies make more money. But seriously.... The thing you need to realize is that in the US and Abroad, there are a lot of people that just do not like Bush. They let their emotions overcome logic and sensibility. They are filled with such hatred and disgust for Bush that they have lost their ability to reason and think intelligently. So rather than be part of a solution to a problem. Rather than applaud accomplishment. Rather than thanking God for each new day... They funnel their anger towards on person, acting ever pessimistic, preaching about doom and gloom, and criticizing everything everywhere. Why? God only knows. Again, how long is a piece of string. Perhaps it's in the chicken. [/quote]
I said "started" what wars in history were started to liberate or help anyone. Is there one? None of those wars were started to liberate or free anyone, vietnam was started with the french, and communists, plo or whatever, the gulf war and WWII were started when one country invaded.
And Iraq is not filled with religious nut cases? Waco and Iraq have a lot in common don’t you think? Owned! D
Saddam started the war in Iraq when he broke international laws for years, murdered thousands of Kurds, and let his boy’s rape and torture good women and children. Not to mention the fact that he would not give up his WMD (that he has hid) when the governments around the world (except the French) wanted him to give them up. D
Don't you ever wonder why that is? Forgetting about internal American politics for a moment. Just, for a moment, forget the fact that you are a supporter of Bush. Clinton was not hated throughout the world. On the contrary, he was, for the most part, pretty well respected. I think that's largely due to the fact that he was an intelligent and peaceful man. (At least he appeared to be outside the USA) Bush does not appear to be either intelligent or peaceful. That's why he is hated throughout the world. That's why people are disgusted by him. But, I don't think the rest of the world (all 5 billion of us) have lost our ability to reason and think intelligently. We just don't like the man and we know he's bad for the world. Period. To a Bush supporter like yourself, that might be a little hard to hear, but it doesn't mean that the rest of us are crazy. Think about it.
Just one thing - repecting someone and liking someone are completely 2 different things. Lots of people liked clinton.
The usual response to doug: What is the connection between wacko in Waco and people in Iraq? I thought you supported the nut cases in Waco. Have you changed your mind and do you think now that both the crazies in Waco and people in Iraq are terrorists?
mahmood: It is unlikely that you will find a rational answer to your query. Those opposed to George W. Bush, the war on terrorism, baseball, mom, apple pie, etc... etc... etc... ad infinitum, ad nauseum -- they don't appear to have rational reasons for their "feelings". They just "feel" hatred and that's the way it is for them. Really, I feel sorry for them. They just hate and hate and hate and even they don't know why. It's sad.
True. They are, but they often go hand in hand together. Clinton was a peaceful man and that matters a lot to the world.
People for the war have reasons, they just change every month or so, Do you know the date when saddam killed the kurds doug, it was like 30 years ago So we invaded a country to stop a rapist? Please Please, are you going to list the other war that was started to "liberate" another country? Because I can't find one instance of a history for war being started for reason other then enriching the agressor. You guys don't like history? I got aother question, how many years of the palenstians and jews been killing each other? Because they would probably give some insight into how long the terrorists in Iraq can kep blowing shit up over there. I think have pretty rational and logical reasons for most my "feelings" I don't put blind faith in politicians, I know enough about history to see the big inconsistencies in the countrys actions So Doug would Jesus invaded Iraq? Do you think jesus is for tax cuts, which are paid for by cutting social programs? Doug are you one of those christians who are for the death penalty?
That's true.. but that's just because of the news channels that put americas actions 100 times higher on the agenda wheter it's positive or negative.
Wasn't that in 1988.. it was happening because some kurds refused to go to their duties under the iran/iraq war. There's however no proofs that Saddam gave such order more like it was coming from some lower level.
