I really dislike the hijacking of the term "Liberal" by the group of idiots who use the label currently. Their policies are Fascist and they should be called by that much more appropriate term. Government control of individual behavior is about as un-Liberal an idea as can possibly exist. And yet "the Liberals" attempt to control our religion, our eating, our drinking, our smoking, our speech, our sporting, and our pocketbooks.
Nor do they want their heads chopped off. You apparently are not informed. Nope, all is not a common denominator for me. And I don't make excuses for terrorists. See gworld, he does all the time.
They all have their credibility issues, don't they? And how can we forget Newsweek? Of course, if they lived up to any sort of level of unbiased reporting, they would report everything. But that's not going to happen, is it?
Are you comparing News Week with the publications in Iraq that prints anything that army gives them as news for $20 dollar? What do you think is biased in their reporting? Maybe you just don't like it because they print the news about the torture and failure of government policy. Would you prefer the old soviet union or china newspapers style that only print the praise of the great leader of the party in USA?
Liberal a. Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry. b. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded. c. Of, relating to, or characteristic of liberalism. d. Liberal Of, designating, or characteristic of a political party founded on or associated with principles of social and political liberalism, especially in Great Britain, Canada, and the United States. What was I thinking; a modern Liberal does not relate to any of these things. D
I had a friend of my kids parent come by my house this summer. He took note of the Bush sign on the lawn and said "I didn't know you guys were rich". Meanwhile he is the one driving the large poluting SUV, living in a house three times the size of mine. Anyway, I was a bit taken back by his statment. So I asked, "what exactly is that supposed to mean?". He said, "oh, I'm sorry, I'm a democrat." To which I replied, "congratulations, that is the first step to recovery, admitting you have a problem."
Bush reportedly OK'd NSA spying on Americans NEW YORK - The National Security Agency has eavesdropped, without warrants, on as many 500 people inside the United States at any given time since 2002, it was reported Friday. That year, following the Sept. 11 attacks, President Bush authorized the NSA to monitor the international phone calls and international e-mails of hundreds — perhaps thousands — of people inside the United States, the New York Times reported. Before the program began, the NSA typically limited its domestic surveillance to foreign embassies and missions and obtained court orders for such investigations. Overseas, 5,000 to 7,000 people suspected of terrorist ties are monitored at one time. NBC report on domestic surveillance The Times report came two days after NBC News reported on the existence of a secret Defense Department database of information about suspicious people and activity inside the United States, including anti-war groups. Bush reportedly OK'd NSA spying on Americans It seems Bush administration has exported so much "democracy" to Iraq that it is very little left for Americans.
And just think -- if we had been doing that during the Clinton administration, we might have been able to prevent the attack on the World Trade Centers.
If only... Clinton single handedly dismanteld all of our cold war intelligence and covert ops while still finding time to destroy our economy. Yep, had the intelligence been there, there would likely have been no 9/11.
Was it anti-war Americans who attacked world trade center? Can you show us any proof for that? I though it was Bin laden who were responsible and hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. You know who Bin laden is, the same guy that his family has many businesses with Bush family and were moved out of USA directly after 9/11 even no flying was permitted. But it will not be nice to spy on one's friends, so why not spy on American anti-war groups instead, right?
If you provide aid and comfort to the enemy, you are the enemy. gworld, don't expect sympathy from the people you are feverishly working to have murdered.
No, it was your friends who attacked the WTC. Is there ever a day you are not sitting on the forum boo hooing and crying about America? I mean good God, each and EVERY day, you sit around here whining like a bitch! Bin laden/Bush family...are you forgetting how his family long ago disavowed him? Yes, because the truth doesn't matter to you. What did Richard Clarke have to say about flying the bin ladens out?
So according to you American Anti-War groups are the enemy because they don't agree with Bush policy. What do you suggest it should be done? It is obvious that favorite method for this administration has been to put enemies in detention camps where they can be tortured, are you suggesting that Americans should be send to secret prisons and be tortured for speaking their minds and working for peace? Little will stop trying to sound like military spokesperson, you were never in military service and you will never will be because you are just an scared little boy hiding under his bed, playing war games on his xbox. You just make yourself look ridiculous when you try to pretend to be a tough military guy.
boy, you didn't get the memo, or the 15,000 memos did you?? This was debunked before the stupid rumor started... Even the family that supposedly was flown out had a story of stress just waiting to get out...
