For the actual foreign terrorist side of things perhaps, how about local insurgents though fighting the occupation and new government?

Article 44 -- Combatants and prisoners of war
    1. Any combatant, as defined in Article 43 , who falls into the power of an adverse Party shall be a prisoner of war.

    2. While all combatants are obliged to comply with the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, violations of these rules shall not deprive a combatant of his right to be a combatant or, if he falls into the power of an adverse Party, of his right to be a prisoner of war, except as provided in paragraphs 3 and 4.

    3. In order to promote the protection of the civilian population from the effects of hostilities, combatants are obliged to distinguish themselves from the civilian population while they are engaged in an attack or in a military operation preparatory to an attack. Recognizing, however, that there are situations in armed conflicts where, owing to the nature of the hostilities an
armed combatant cannot so distinguish himself, he shall retain his status as a combatant, provided that, in such situations, he carries his arms openly:

    (a) during each military engagement, and

    (b) during such time as he is visible to the adversary while he is engaged in a military deployment preceding the launching of an attack in which he is to participate.

But who cares about Geneva convention that is signed by USA and most countries in the world when we have such experts as little Willy and brk on this forum?

Why do they call terrorist, freedom fighters, and insurgents? Is this a way to make them seem less evil? Why would a grown man be willing to blow up children, at a small café where people are eating? I would think if you are a fighter you would square up and duke it out, like men should. And why do these terrorists blow up their own people?

I wonder if the world has gone mad? It’s seams truth is only relative to the one hearing his own words. What ever happened to honor amongst men? What honor could come from beheading a newsperson, a truck driver who is trying to support a family of 4, or a group of Philippine visitors on a field trip to Iraq?

This does not sound like war, but uncontrolled lunacy.

They are madmen bent on destruction with no remorse. The only way to stop them is to kill them all, plain and simple.

You must not watch much news, there are multiple different groups. Just because group A blows up a school does not make them the same as group B who attacks a police station

Don't you think it will hard for some one who has in a best case a rifle to fight a modern jet fighter dropping napalm bombs on civilian houses?

It is interesting idea anyway but there is only 2 way to do it. Either USA should provide the fighter in Iraq with jets, tanks, aircraft carries, attack helicopters and let them have a modern war there or they should remove all the new weapons that US army has in Iraq and let them fight hand to hand like a real men.

    What do you suggest?

As per usual, your random bolding missed the most important parts of your quote in an apparent attempt to completely misrepresent its meaning.

Why don't you bold during such time as he is visible to the adversary while he is engaged in a military deployment preceding the launching of an attack in which he is to participate..

Also, of course, do you know to whom the Geneva Convention applies?

As per usual, you have it all wrong.

If you want to introduce arms parity, then you have to give the school children and cafe' goers AK-47's and explosives, just like the Islamic fundamentalists who are murdering them.

This isn't a war between the U.S. Armed Forces and your Islamofascist friends. This is a was between your Islamofascist friends and the ordinary citizens of Iraq. The U.S. Army is merely there to give the advantage to the disadvantaged.

Pop quiz asshole -- What is the Special Forces motto?

    ferret

did you forget again? According to little Willy, there is no war, only people shooting each other with guns and sometime for good measure some tanks, airplanes and helicopters firing on the people.
It is kind of like fire works with live ammunition to encourage people who are fighting.
