Since the crazy Mullah's took power and threatened to murder all of their American hostages. Are you too young to remember that?

The only reason they let the hostages go is because we elected Ronald Reagan and he made it clear to them that once he took the oath of office, he would force them to release the hostages.

Force is a language everybody understands.

Since that time, the Iranians have been organizing and funding murder as far away as South America. Remember the Jews they murdered in South America?

The reason that the Iranians have not murdered more people is because they haven't been able to. That does not evince a lack of will, it evinces a lack of capability.

The Iranians are running down the path of gaining the capability to murder tens or hundreds of millions of people.

What on earth makes you think that the Iranians, once they suddenly have the capability to accomplish what they have long dreamed of -- will suddenly give up their dreams, settle down, and become peaceful members of the International community?

Will I do understand that ;)

    My entire position summed up
#1 I do not support an invasion at this time.
#2 With enough factual basis a bombing/missile strike to destroy any and all WMD, Nuclear sites, etc that our military feels necessary.

Of course the feds know more than we know now, my entire position of not attacking at this moment however is from the facts as we currently know them. If and when we to attack/invade I simply hope that we do have something more to go off of than currently out in the open at this time.

Items for not attacking at this moment
    credibility with the world
    the war in Iraq
much of it's based off of speculation

I say watch them like a hawk, don't let up, if we see something seriously wrong send a few missiles if nothing more than to send a message. At least that's my opinion at the moment.

I don't know but they are pretty creative in that part of the world. Maybe bomb a plane, hijack a ship and kill the passengers, kill more jews, who knows they may even fly planes into some buildings unless you think that is a little bit far fetched. What you underestimate is their obsession with Israel and the United States. I believe in protecting Israel and you don't. They will definitely be able to do a lot of damage since they are willing to die for their belief. A lot of westerners don't seem to realize the real danger. It's not about what you have to work with but how dedicated they are to use it. And who says they are not in the process of building nuclear weapons?

    That's like saying I can't go to England, because I don't own a plane.

My car doesn’t drive on water I guess I’ll never be able to see Europe now.

You make the worst arguments I've ever seen. Then again that's like saying gworld can’t say anything too stupid because he doesn’t have a brain. It’s a pointless argument.

I remember it, the point being it's 'saber rattling' from a country that at this moment realy can not do anything to us. Yes nuclear weapons could level the playing field for them, but until that day it realy is nothing more than standard school yard bitching :p

By remembering it, reading stories on it.

    I don't believe that actually,

    ---edit
I'm actually on your side Will of Iran being evil, needing to be dealt with, etc. But wanting to see them taken care of is kind of hard without having enough to equate to us being able to do it, or reason to do it at this particular point in time.

So we need a mushroom cloud.

I thought Iran wanted to knock Israel off the map because they have bigger penises than we do? Seem to remember some nutjob making that analogy.

Well I don't either. We need to wait until at least January. :)

The trouble with that is that it can't be done. The sites in question are:

    1. Hidden and unknown
    2. Buried so deep that even bunker busters are unlikely to damage them
    3. Most likely hidden in urban civilian areas

We won't. We simply do not have good intelligence inside Iran. Our first serious proof that the Iranians have finished their development work will be either an announcement with a blackmail offer or a large explosion.

I don't give a rats ass what anyone thinks. Forget soccer, being wrong is the most popular sport in the world.

True. We can't spread ourselves too thin. However -- the war in Iran will be an air war for a long time before it becomes a ground war.

And that's just the way that it always will be. Remember the feint that saved thousands of lives on D-Day?

Except, we can't "watch" what they are doing in hidden facilities underground any more than you can tell what I am wearing right now.

And, of course, sending a few missiles is just a useless display of weakness. How Clintonista of you! How well did that strategy do in Afghanistan?

What are talking about is terrorism and not one country attacking another.

How is attacking Iran is going to lower the risk of terrorism, if they already have people ready to die for their cause, bombing and killing their fathers, mothers, daughters, sons or brother and sisters make them even more willing to die for cause and revenge for their murdered family?

If Israel is in such a danger from Iranian then why are they selling them Arms? You are so brain washed with the neo-con latest philosophy of defending Israel as part of being American that you can not even see that so far Israel as been much better in killing it's neighbors than they ever hope to be.
Just look at history of Israel and you can see that they have much more successful both in conventional war and terrorism than any of the Arab countries. They are big boys with atomic bombs, so you don't need to worry that they won't be able to defend themselves.

Wow back to the almighty mushroom cloud. A good solid case laid out for why a bombing campaign was necessary of facts we may not know of yet, without being twisted or distorted would suffice.

There is a huge difference between bombing their installations and an invasion 'of which I know gtech is not for an invasion' and what the public would support of each, and the reasons given behind them.

Well you know how George Bush replied to Walter Mondale when Mondale said this:

Walter Mondale: George Bush doesn't have the manhood to apologize.

George Bush: Well, on the manhood thing, I'll put mine up against his any time.

So I really don't care that much if someone questions my manhood. I don't feel like putting it up against anyone elses.

    Check your dates ferret-face.

The Iranian hostages were released only moments after Ronald Reagan was inaugurated.

What, did you go to public school?

lol schoolyard as in they've been saying it for years to the point they have never been able to realy touch us. Not that they don't mean it, or if they had the power they would not try to, simply at this time I see it like a little girl with a rubber band in hand threatening to stab me.
