it realy starting to look like Iraqi was a bad idea, even if we are there to "free the people"

What it cost to be there 10 billion a month of our tax moeny?

The only reports I have heard back from those who have been to Iraq are positive in nature, sure people are dying, but the Iraqis are mostly for us being there. 1 man I spoke with was heading back for a third time - his choice and he had already been shot twice. I could see that he had a love for the people he had met there and for their plite for freedom and safety from terrorists!

The only thing i've read from them is that he's grouping every single person who commits a murder into one group called al quada.. which he shouldn't be doing. It's WRONG and it's the most ignorant thing i've read on here.

Maybe every time a kid kills another kid in a U.S. school we can automatically assume he did it because of video games too.

 

I would rather see my tax dollars remove Saddam from power and help those people create a gov of thier own than to see the money spent here trying to find out how many times a hummingbird flaps its wings in a minute.

No, I'm just stating the facts.

I consider myself a happy person.

Nazi's never ruled the world, there are still 1,000's of slaves... and China one of the biggest countries in the world is still communist.

I'm not saying that war is never right.. I'm just saying this one wasn't.

Slavery was ended in many places without the war because it is not an efficient method of production. In USA, the war was necessary because the economic interest of south and north was different, it was the industrial power of north that won the civil war. In some places in Africa that production by means of slavery is still possible, slavery still exists.

Nazism, the war was over the colonies and economical power. Nobody cared about the Jews and USA routinely refused Jews entry to the country. Hitler lost the war because the industrial power of USA was much bigger than Germany which resulted in better equipped army.

Communism- The break down of Soviet block was direct result of Arms race and the war in Afghanistan that destroyed the soviet economy.

With huge cost of war, USA is in it's way to join the soviet in former super power club.

Just because the new government will probably be heavily infulenced by iran, doesn't mean they won't be cool, they might even allow woman to go out without head scarves.

I wonder who are the people that are asking for refugee statue in Canada. Look at Saturday's Vancouver Sun that had one of the former American soldiers from Iraq in front page telling people about his experiences.
As much as I remember there is already about 300 that have applied but they estimate that many more live in Canada without applying for refugee statue yet.

 

My assumptions were based on your initial responses " I dont care why they do it I care what they do" This is why I asked them as questions, because that kind of attitude tends to exist amongst those that have never been far.

The complete inaccuracy of my assumptions (which were questions) is based on the fact you come across like someone who doesnt give a damn about anything non american. I know you probably think that it was John Wayne that won the war and defeated the Nazi but it is good that you look at the number of dead from different countries and Armies before making such statements.

I never said you said they did. You said "they don't" as one of your points for war or being greatful.. or whatever... but since they never did rule the world.. the point really has no validity.

Except the REAL reason we stopped them was because Japan attacked us... And even though plenty of good comes from america.. so does plenty of death and destruction.

For instance:
The stealing of land and extermination of the indians.
The slavery, torture, and death of people based on race for hundreds of years.

We're neither saints nor devils... that's just the way it is. At least I can admit how WRONG we have been many times and how wrong we were for going into Iraq.

 

We didn't start the war, but we ended the war by winning it, bringing peace to a huge portion of the globe.
