McAfee has come a long way. It used to be it was an extremely bloated memory intensive application but as it stands now they really slimmed it down and it works great. Nortons though started off good but got really bloated and if you don't have a powerful enough computer to run it you will be extremely dissatisfied. Either way finding one to actually backup properly is a nightmare. Neither Nortons or McAfee or Windows live Once care will back up your data properly.

I used to run my own computer shop for 5 years and the biggest thing for my customers is they would buy software with not reading the system requirements to run it. Plus if they did get a virus say 5 of them in one month Nortons will not honor your subscription after reinstalls. It throws out a different IP each time you reinstall an OS. That is the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. Plus it is really important for me to understand the support lines I call. Nortons does not have fluent english speaking support.

I have been using AVG free version since a while now and it works wonderfully well coupled with Zonealarm firewall! :)

I am thinking of buying 'QuickHeal' now... is anybody having any personal experience of using the same?

    Regards,

I'm using Avast 5.0 from last 2 years and the experience with them is awesome so want to continue with Avast only. :)

@RightMan - I have no experience with the payed antivirus but that free one was of no use.

My first anti-virus was Norton and I used it 3 years. But it ate lot of memory and then I moved to avast. It was fine until I found an autoexc.exe spyware in those machines. Then I moved to Kaspersky which quarantined / removed those spyware. So far its good.

The first one I ever used was AVG and it never failed me.

Then I started using Kaspersky's Internet Security and I never looked back!

Kaspersky is listed on almost all rankings of internet security as the Dominant number 1, i had Kaspersky a few years ago but the license expired so now im using Avast, its pretty good but of course not as good as Kaspersky.

Kaspersky is the best one at the moment, hands down no competition.

It is the best and most reliable. I NEVER had a problem with it. And when the license expired, I improvised.
