My favourite would be NOD32 and Norton.

Used a number of them over the years paid and free. Some of them are good at one point, and a few years down the road not so good anymore. Last time I used mcafee a few years ago it was extremely slow. Norton used to be difficult to totally uninstall and get rid of, not sure if they have fixed that. The free ones seem ok, some are easier to use than others. I really don't have a preference anymore. As long as it's legit auto updates and is fast and accurate.

I use kaspersky, its the best I have used so far. It gives very good real time protection without consuming a lot of resources or slowing the computer down.
I have used other before, but they were not as efficient as Kaspersky..

Can you specify the source for it?
Most of the software programs give a 30 day trial version.

Years ago, an extremely experienced and successful SEO guy turned me onto AVG. I started with the free version and loved it so much that I upgraded to professional. I wouldn't bother with anything else... and I recommend it to everyone I know.

I use Comodo on my netbook, and Anti Vir on my main PC. They both seem pretty good to me, although they're both prone to false positives.
